Post by rafal1 »

HI

Just installed and run HDDInfo TAP. I was expecting it to show me disc temperature but no temperature reading that I can see.
Could you advise what am I doing wrong?

Press >>> to show the SMART data

Sometimes, the raw device temperature needs to be based about something other than 0. If your temperature looks funny, please post your model and the values in columns 3. 4, 5 and 6 and I'll try and work it out

Better still, run my fsCheck tap (in \ProgramFiles\Utilities) and it should show the temperature at the bottom of the log it displays on the screen.

Thank you Geoff

pressing >>> on HDDInfo doesn't move it on Smart Data on my toppy unfortunately.
I just downloaded and run your fsCheck tap, fantastic, all readings I wanted are there.
Thanks a lot

Geoff meant the (>>) button to get to the second HDDInfo screen.

Hi Andy
yes of course it is the (>>) button but pressing it doesn't do anything when HDDInfo is on the screen. The button itself works perfectly in other situations
thanks

Odd. When you are in HDDINFO, on the first page, do you see :-

Code: Select all

Smart
Supported: YES
Enabled [3]: YES
Attr. AutoSave [4]: ON
Status: Tests passed
?

You may need to press [3] or [4] (number pad) to get it to look like above -- although on mine if I disable SMART and press [>>] (not [>]) -- I still get a 2nd screen with "SMART Disabled".

So not sure why you can't get to the 2nd screen.

Hi

Sorry I should have post it earlier. I made a mistake by putting the tap in to the "auto start" folder. This caused it getting stuck on the "first page". When I moved the tap in to "program files" folder it worked fine and I can skip on "smart data" page
thanks again

Glad you sorted it, didn't realise that HDDInfo reacted that way if auto-started :)

Some TAPS are not really meant for auto-starting anyway!
