On reflection I think item 2 can be ignored andregarded as a feature. It appears that few people experience it, retunes aren't that often and Toppy goes into to standby over night anyway.

Good morning all! SWMBO is giving me grief as ITV BE and BE +1 don't appear to be collected from the basic EPG. I've updated recently to ensure I'm running the latest fixes including the 'Prune' tap. Do you have some suggestions as to how I could fault find this?

Are you saying that ITV BE is showing in the epg, but has no entries?

Hi, ITV BE shows in the native Toppy EPG as a channel with the EGP. I'm using MyStuff and it shows as a channel here but with no EPG. I don't know where the issue is yet!

The tap epg2mei has a .ini file which includes a list of channels to restrict/ignore.

You can edit this file, using TopManager, a pc based utility.

Personally, I "allow everything all the time", using the following....

Code: Select all

# File updated by Channel Organiser B2.1 on 28/3/2015 at 10:37

[Control]
Output=EPG # Note: this is temporary and the output will eventually be EPG.mei
EuroDST
External=MyStuff
Demangle
MergeExt
UseExtGenre
#AddExtendedInfo
StripDups
Debug=Off
DescSeparator=¬
DescTerminator=
It means subtle changes to channel numbers doesn't do any harm, after running ChannelOrganiser.

NB I don't allow CO to update config files, otherwise the above .ini file would be overwritten.

As ccs says, it sounds as though you have an exclusion in the EPG2MEI.ini file.

You can edit the file using TopManager (Connection| Browse, locate the file in \ProgramFiles\Settings, and click Edit in the top menu).

Alternatively, use the TopManager| PcControl| Channel Management option instead of using ChannelOrganiser. This automatically adjusts any .ini files to suit your channel lineup (if you try this now, you probably don't even need to rescan; just do a Check/Update files option)
[edit]Remember that it will take about 20 mins after changing the files before these channels will have info in the MyStuff epg[/edit]

That has resolved ITV BE, now to work on ITV BE +1!

Thanks for your advice so far.

IIRC ITVBe+1 and ITV4+1 are only live for a couple of hours overnight, presumably an investment in LCN nos and the promotion policy when gaps appear? Do report back if that has now changed, because they will not be in my Favourites, even if channel not deleted!

Both ITVBe +1 and ITV4 +1 are just placeholders and only have shopping from 04:00 to 06:00

Although EMJB no longer has any real interest with toppies, he has again kindly uploaded a new version of Freeview.dat.

Also, thanks to bizman for providing me with an up-to-date version of the file.

The file can be installed using the "TopManager | Tools| Install Files" option (when TM is run, it should tell you that a new version of the file exists)

The only issues I still need help with are?

1. Quest Red is our new favourite channel, but Quest Red+1 has an "Invalid LCN" and doesn't work. Can anyone please help me get it working?

2. Is it still recommended not to have more than 60 channels? I've always had 55 channels (5 pages x 11 channels per page) but the number of decent channels has now surpassed that, so I'd really like to go up to 6 pages (66 channels) if it's possible?

Quest Red +1 is broadcast on a HD mux, so you'll never get it on a toppy.

Crikey, I could manage with 4 or 5 channels. :)
