Problem with TF5800PVR after using channel organiser

Post by elmer »

Hi
Just moved house, did a rescan but it wasn't finding evry channel. Did the factory setting rescan thing which found the rest. Tried culling channels I dont want with channel organiser but got stuck in a loop where it kept saying I had duplicate channels or some other problem and kept making me rescan. I've now ended up with multiples of the same channel and if I startup the toppy with taps working I then can't change chanel or do anything at all apart from turn on and off.

Any help apreciated thanks

You are receiving channels from more than one transmitter. Do you know which transmitter your aerial is pointing at? You should be able to limit the search by selecting the transmitter in CO.

Hi
Thanks for the reply
I'm not sure how I find out what current transmitter I'm using. In channel organiser for perform channel search it says "current transmitter"

I don't know if its relivent but they had to fit a booster to the airiel as we've moved to a location with poor reception (most people have freesat or sky

What is your postcode?

I suspect that the booster is no longer necessary, as you are receiving 4 transmitters.

Hi our postcode is OX15 5EQ. They fitted the aerial today, the previous occupant only had a satalite dish. We are rather in a dip where we are.

I've just checked sorry its 3 of each channel not 4

Just tried ringing the aerial people, didn't speak to the guys who fitted it, but thye seemed to think we'd probably be pointing at Oxford and to try limiting to group CD (Green 48-68)

Edit
Yup just tried limiting it and that seems to have done the trick

Much thanks for your help Andy

In this context, "current transmitter" really means the transmitter you were tuned to before. Since you've moved house, it's no longer current for you, so not a good choice to use. You need to tell it about your new transmitter.

Assuming you have a windows pc, I suggest you install TopManager and use it's PcControl interface to scan and clean up the nonrequired channels;

See here for an outline of what to do (you can ignore the bit about moving PCControl to start of load order; this should now be automatic)

Your signature is also very old so, when you have the channels sorted, suggest you update to MyStuff 6.5 and use the TopManager "Tools| Update Forum Profile" to update the signature.

You should select the Oxford Transmitter (53,60,50,59,55)

Only in version 2, which is covered in a different thread and is still at pre-release stage (Hoping to get out shortly).

That's weird. :? I'm currently in France using the hotel wi-fi - perhaps that's the cause?

Sorry EMJB, I've been using the pre-release version for a while so I'd forgotten.

Is this still the link for freeview.dat? (Looking at the file contents I'd say it is.)

(CO download link not working.)
