Play 5810 recordings on a 5800?

Post by Geoff Bacon »

I'm trying to repair a corrupted toppy disk for someone and although I have recovered the files, when I put the recovered disk in my TF5800, I can't play any of the recordings in my 5800 (I believe that the recording toppy was a 5810). Archive shows "invalid DVTB" (or similar)

I've also tried copying a few recordings from the repaired disk to my pc and then to the pukka 5800 disk; MyStuff puts these into BadFiles (MS wasn't on the repaired disk)

Does anyone know if it is possible to copy 5810 recordings to a 5800 and play them? As an aside, what about 5800 recordings playing on a 5810?
Note: I know that the models have slightly different recording headers but I always thought that firmware would handle them.

I'm guessing that the recovered disk is fine (TopfHDDoctor reports no issues) but I really like to test a disk before sending it back to the user.
