No problems with the file/folder structure, problems are mostly down to the TV, I like and dislike Plex somethings about it don't sit well with me. I'm trying out Video Station on my Synology NAS at the moment.
Been looking at Homerun, what do you think of it for ease of use/toppy comparison ?

The trouble with using Plex with HDHomeRun is to record you need a Plex pass ( which I'm not prepared to pay)
My NAS app, Video Station can use HDHome to record ( same idea as with Plex) and provides an EPG. Just wondered how you find the HDHomeRun Quad for ease of use compared to the Toppy ?

The topfield with MyStuff has so many features that it unlikly that any other unit will equal it. The homerun is a simple recorder that will do series recording and has a good EPG. It is incredibly easy to use. Just click on an EPG entry to select record or series record. The convenience is that it will record HD TV into the Plex TV folder ready to play on your devices.. I like Plex and don't think the price of a lifetime pass is that much. The ease of instalation into Plex another plus. The HomeRun DVD Service seems to cost $35 a year. Much more than a lifetime Plex pass.

My Enigma 2 boxes running Openvix come very close and in some areas do better, as can be expected with hardware with a much better specification. Some things are achieved in a different way but the results I get with my Enigma 2 boxes are no different to that achieved with my previous Toppy and Mystuff.

Thanks for that, I wasn't thinking of the homerun DVR service, as you say it has a yearly fee.
My Synology NAS has a free dtv recording extension which works with HDHomerun has a 7 day epg, series record and seems straightforward to use, Videostation is similar to Plex in use. I also have a Pi setup with tvHeadend and a usb tv tuner which could also access a hdHomerun for recording, Looks like I'll have some trials to run over the winter

They seem to have broken Video Station. They no longer access TVDB for TV shows and only use TMDB. This looses posters and synopsis.

Odd, I just added Batwoman (series 2) last week. I recorded it on the Toppy, tranferred to PC, coverted to MP4 and copied the series over to my NAS. Did nothing else and each episode now has a synopsis and cast list etc.

I tried Video Station the other day and I gave it my Plex TV folder. It went off indexing them but there were no pictures. I seatched the web and found that TVDB was dropping their old APIs soon and I didn't have a new one.

I read up about the tvdb changes, I don't have the API, knew nothing about it until you posted and I did a bit of googling :? I'm fairly sure when I first added the Batwoman series there were no images or data, but a few days later all the info was there. I have more stuff to transfer later, I'll see what happens.

I didn't give it days. I am used to Plex getting the data in minutes.

I didn't give days on purpose, it just happened to be that long before I looked again, so K have no idea how long it took.
