I think the latest one will be near enough.

I've just used CO to rescan, and all the number changes are showing up ok in MyStuff, and I haven't updated in years.

FvTxData.tsv is the one to keep an eye on when there are mux changes.

I'm not aware of any LCN channel changes since I updated the Freeview.dat file on 20th May.
@ccs: Please let me know what LCNs need to be adjusted.

TopManager (TM) will tell you if there is a difference between the version stored on the GeeCeeBee website and that on the toppy. Did you manually copy Freeview.dat to the toppy or did you use the TM Install Files mechanism? (if you used "Install Files"; it should always provide the latest version).

I used "Import Files" Geoff. I presume that is what you mean by "Install files".

I'll try again this morning.

You don't need to try again if you did use the import mechanism (nothing has been changed).

Can you please clarify the message that is being produced?
e.g. Is it
1) TM saying the Freeview.dat file is out of date about 2 seconds after the connection to the Toppy has been established
2) TM saying the FvTxData.tsv file is out of date about 2 seconds after the connection to the Toppy has been established
3) ChannelOrganiser saying there are errors in the Freeview.dat
4) Something else (and what)

Also, what version of TM are you running (shown in Title bar)

I'm using v6.2 of TM.

It was CO that reported after a scan that the Freeview, dat file needed updating. When I ran CO again I got the same message but when I ran it a third time, the message was gone.

The scan appears to have brought up nearly all the channels although 7,8,and 9 are missing for some reason.

And then I went back into CO to check my deleted channels for BBC4, and it told me that the Freeview.dat file needs updating.

@ccs: Thanks for that info - I've updated both Freeview files.

@nuuk: You will have to "Import" Freeview.dat again - suggest you do this now so that it is in place for when you re-scan next week.
Please note that I don't guarantee to keep these files permanently "correct". This is because it takes a lot of time for minimal effect (I suspect most users do not use most of the affected channels and, if they really need them, they can use TM to make the adjustments to their own file)

Thanks again. I've imported the Freeview, dat file twice But I am still told that it needs updating.

The message tells me:

LCN 19 appears to have moved to 25

LCN 25 appears to have moved to 42

1. Look at the names of the affected LCNs
2. Look at ccs's post above
3. Look at when the retune happens
4. Deduce the answer

I've no idea why you are having problems

I've just fired up TopManager 6.2
It told me that a new version of Freeview.dat was available
I used Tools| Install Files| Freeview.dat
I said "Yes" to Overwrite (perhaps you are not doing this?)

I ran CO B2.1
Did a scan
It said there were no issues with Freeview.dat
I closed TM and reran it again
It didn't tell me that a new version of Freeview.dat existed i.e. it had downloaded the file and put it into the correct place

Please use TM !Connection |Browse; select Settings and double click on Freeview.dat.
Scroll down and check that the 2nd line from the bottom says
"@LastUpdated=11:15 on 13/06/2019 # Update this!"

When I fire up TM 6.2 I do not get any notification that a new version of Freeview.dat is available.

There is no 'Install files' on the TOOLS tab.

After connecting the Toppy and clicking on BROWSE, I have no 'Settings' option.

I have just downloaded the Freview.dat file from your site again, and looked at it with a text editor. The bottom lines are:

Well that shows you don't have the latest version of the file.

I've no idea where you are getting this file from because there are currently only two files on the site that have been modified since April (Freeview.dat and it's Scottish variant) and these both have the 13th June as their modification date.

Suggest you proceed as follows:
1) Run TM, Connection| Browse
2) Select the Settings folder
3) Select Freeview.dat
4) F2 and rename the file to Freeview20190520.dat (this gives you something to recover from should you need to)
5) Tools| Install Files| Freeview.dat
6) Connection| Browse, select Freeview.dat and double click. Scroll down and check the date line

Assuming that all works, rerun CO and scan.

At some point in the future, you can browse to the Settings folder and delete the temporary Freeview20190520.dat
