On 23/8/16 the changes made for the Olympic revert back to how they were before.

On 20/9/16 new channels LCN83 Blaze (24hr) and LCN84 Blaze+1 start on COM4/SDN. Placeholders are there now should you wish to retune beforehand.

Well almost. The following changes have taken place today. The ones in square brackets do not affect the Toppy:

[Viva+1 moved from LCN 57 to LCN 86 COM7]
[Viva moved from LCN 56 to LCN 57 COM7]
[5USA+1 moved from LCN 54 to LCN 56 COM7]

My5 moved from LCN 55 to LCN 54 COM4

[5Star+1 on LCN 55 COM8]

QVC+1 name changed to QVC Style LCN 36 COM6

I know you are all looking forward to all those festive films, well LCN74 is the home of True Chrismas on the local mux (make sure your signal strength is good before recording).

I would suggest that it might be a good idea to ensure this even for merely viewing via a Toppy as it automatically records while you do this.

They have also started a consultation about another lcn reorganization which will happen next summer

http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/industry/Abo ... sultations

There are some questions in the document, but they expect letters or emails no webform, how 20th century!

No chance of getting rid of those wasteful lcn hoggers +1 channels, or those prominent lcns reserved for Northern Ireland, Wales or Manchester. And of course no separate genre for those shopping channels I always delete!

Some of us find them very useful. I often find I want to record 3 things which cause a clash and a +1 channel becomes the only way to achieve it.

I haven't read the details of the proposed LCN changes yet, but has anyone noticed if it involves any Mux changes for any mainstream channels?

The primary changes are just LCN numbers and mux frequencies akin to the changes a couple of years back when the news & childrens genres were moved.
The frequency changes are to make way for mobile operators & the genre changes are because the entertainment & childrens genres are full.

I find it amazing that they keep fiddling about with it as if re-tuning is something the average person does on a weekly basis.

Luckily I have a relatively painless time of it thanks to MyStuff recreating timers and TopManager remembering channel deletions, but my parents have to reinstate all their series links and timers every time (Humax). Most people tend not to even know a re-tune is required unless they transmit the nag info.

Although they have a "system", whenever I look at a Freeview channel list it just seems to be a random collection of channel names and genres. Makes me  when they re-arrange things to suit this alleged organisation.

It would be far better if they nominated a fixed date every 6 or 12 months to be "the re-tune date" and all changes are rolled into that.

TinyPop will be kicked off COM5 on the 15th to make room for Quest Red and will be relegated to the local mux. Quest Red is expected to replace Quest+1 on LCN38, with Quest+1 being moved from 38 to 92.

For non-Toppy users, on the same day LCN90 becomes CBS Action +1, probably on COM8
