Sopranos - current and final season - Episodes 1 & 2 PLE

Post by failbetter »

Toppy set-up on repeat record, guides scoured for all progs. worth taping while away in Italy - and when we return last night - NOTHING AT ALL! Power cut at 10am, Saturday 1st September - approximately 2 hours after we left! Can anyone help with a DVD recording of above - or, if you can only give us the file from Toppy we'll try to find a way to watch!
Many thanks
Sara and Andy

I may be misreading your post but I can't see which programmes you are wanting - other than "all progs, worth taping"? :?

I think what failbetter is after was included in the "Post subject" i.e. "Sopranos - current and final season - Episodes 1 & 2"

Also this thread was originally set up for people to list what programme sthey regularly record, so that others can see if any may have recorded their missing prog - If you are requesting a missing prog, the probably best to start a new thread rather than posting here....

Now I am even more confused. That is not the thread title I am seeing? I see:-

"Lost & Found - look here for programmes you've missed"

Edit: I see what the problem is now. I was using the Toppy2 skin which does not show individual post titles.

It's not the subject of the thread, but that of actual post by failbetter - to the right of the date/time on his [sorry - her] post (also at the top of yours & mine postings)

Sopranos request clarification

Post by failbetter »

Sorry for any confusion. msteggalls is right - we're after the Sopranos - the current and final season. There've been two Episodes so far (Sep 2 & 9) which we've missed.
Thanks

This is not displayed on the Toppy2 skin I was using as I pointed out in my previous post.

The heading of this thread acts as a decoy for newbies. It should be changed to "Posting here is a waste of time, you should make a separate post for what you need." Or "Discussion area for peole who habitually service requests". Or just deleted in its entirety.

This last suggestion is intended constructively.

I don't understand the 'skins' bit at all.
(a) How do you select a skin? Or know what you've currently got?
(b) Can posts (as opposed to threads) have individual titles?

a) from your profile page
b) yes, but they are not visible when using some skins (including the default?) and tend not to be used in general

I agree that since this thread was started people have tended to create one thread per request. This thread was meant to be a haven for people who record whole series, so it would be easier to find somebody to fill your request. That has not happened. :)

Go to your profile page and near the bottom there is an option called "Board Style" - It will show what your current "Style" (or skin) is (mine is subsilver) and will allow you to pick from a dropdown list other styles.

Posts can have individual titles, although as discovered last night they are not visible on all board styles

As a requestor I would not presume to actually ask a specific individual for recordings. As a responder it's (a lot) easier for me to scan the thread titles. I did try supporting this thread at first by posting my (then) current interests here, but I don't have the time to keep that up to date. Especially when the individual posts work pretty well, even for quite old stuff.

So I'm very serious when I say that it was a nice idea but IMHO it has proved counter productive.

Many thanks for the 'skins' tutorial :) Duncan

Until I posted tonight, if this thread wasn't sticky it would be on page 4 of the Programmes subforum 8)

We should keep it sticky as a place for habitual responders to chat, and of course for the sparkling analysis of process thus encapsulated
