It seems to have stop crashing. Perhaps flushing the mei's was enough.

I think I'll upgrade to 6.6 at the weekend.

Unable to download My Stuff

Post by simonlh »

I am unable to download MyStuff. I go to www.BobDsMyStuff.co.uk and then click on Download MyStuff 6.6 and it does not bring up the download page. Brings up rubbish.

It looks like there is a problem with the site.

The toppy.org.uk server has been moved. It may take a while for some of the links to catch up.

Yes, I'm getting all sorts of stuff which is getting spawned off my George Clark's Amazing Spaces search.

Clearly Channel 4 need better education about how Series CRID should be used :).
Meanwhile, I just sigh and exclude the unwanted search groups each time I find an unexpected recording.

Erros on BobD's pages

Post by litton4 »

I'm seeing a lot of errors like the following on the MyStuff pages:

[an error occurred while processing this directive]

The formatting on the changelog page also seems wrong, with everything centred

Also getting an "Internal server error" trying to access the download page.

Very frustrating when I want to download c opy.......

(I'm late to the 6.6 party, sorry)

Thanks - unfortunately, I deleted and re-created the search, we'll see if it recurs.

I did check the series CRID and they seemed different, so I assume there is some "under the covers" magic that links things.......

If you're using PSes, MyStuff first searches for programmes that match the string, and then uses CRID magic to make sure you don't get duplicates, but can get alternative showings if there's a clash. Assuming the broadcaster's CRID information is correct, of course.

Also, is there any further info on how to use the following New: feature (pun intended)

New feature to handle cases where broadcasters add words (such as "New: ") to the start of programme names, stopping Searches from matching them. MyStuff can now read in a file of such prefixes (and channels to apply them to) and will ignore such words when matching against programme names, and when creating Searches based on programme names.

The xxxing "New:" prefix on some broadcasts of some programmes drives me mad.

I use "Contains" rather than "starts with", but sometimes searches using this pick up loads of unwanted recordings - "Castle" is a case in point.

There's a text configuration file (can't find the name atm, but I'm pretty certain that the installer for 6.6. adds it, and it contains "New:" by default) into which you can add (on a computer) the prefixes that you want to ignore. I wouldn't mind betting it's called something obscure like MyStuff_Prefix_exlusions, or something :)

That means that PSes of the form "Starts with ..." will ignore the prefixes listed in the config, and if the the resulting recordings are Autofiled, the same prefix will also be dropped from the folder name that it files to.

So, if you have the config file, and it includes New:
then
Starts with Castle
will find
Castle and New: Castle

It will also autofile to Castle.

Essentially, MyStuff will treat all programmes called "New: "<programme name> as if the string "New: " simply didn't exist.
