You may, but I think the consensus was to keep the patches in the Recommended Firmware down to just bug fixes. (There have been issues before with people not liking / wanting "feature" patches when they've been included in the past, and they were subsequently removed.)

Perhaps CW wouldn't mind putting them into the installation script as options though (with a brief description of what they're for)? Once they're on the Toppy in the /ProgramFiles/InstallerFirmware/Add directory, they'll then get re-added to any subsequent firmware updates done by FWLoad.

I guess the script has to also remove them from the Toppy if the user chooses not to have them on a subsequent run. Or ideally, remind the user that they had that patch before, and do they really not want it this time?

Unfortunately, topfield.cc is a now a dead site, so those links no longer work.

On the advice of ccs, I've used FwLoad to install a patch. It's documented here:

http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/emjbtaps/

Which links to a PDF manual, containing a link to download it from here:

http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/emjbtaps/FwLoad/FwLoad.zip

It would be good if this, or similar advice, could be placed in the first post, instead of 23 pages in, since this thread is a sticky about applying patches.

Unfortunately, it's R2-D2's thread and first post, and he's not around any more to edit it.

I see. Thanks, Julie.

Maybe this is something a moderator could do?

Take a look at the 1st post to check I've understood what's required. Let me know if not.

But Firebird's files are still available

for example HDFW

Good to know. Thanks, mstombs.

In that case, an update of the links in the first post would seem appropriate.
