Once you get MyStuff up and running, make sure you delete the native Series Link timers. Native timers (especially for Series) and TAP-set timers don't play nicely together.
Since posting my last request I did bite the bullet and played a bit of all the recordings in the archive, they all seem fine, though we had a film split into two files and the first part has disappeared from the archive.
That COULD just be because the first part was last part of a merged recording. The native interface doesn't know anything about them.

Thanks for the tip about deleting timers. A regards the split film, when I played back the remaining portion it was only the 2nd part, not the first part. Also, If I remember correctly, that recording was not merged, it really was two separate files (I think I had to record the 2nd half manually, I was in at the time and noticed that the 2nd half had not started to record).

What I meant was that Part 1 of the film was merged with something else entirely, e.g. with the evening's line up of

8:00-9:00 The Cube (recorded)
9:00-10:00 Life of Brian (part 1) (recorded)
10:00-10:30 News (not recorded)
10:30-11:30 Life of Brian (part 2) (recorded)

If you have merged recordings on (MyStuff option K7: Merge back to back timers=Yes), then part 1 of Life of Brian would be invisible to the native interface, because it's part of the "The Cube" recording.

I see what you mean, but no, it was not merged in that way either

Looks like the corrupted version of MyStuff was the culprit. Finally prised my kids away from cbbc and put the toppy through a power cycle, got the verifying folders and files thing, after which MyStuff loaded and all looks well. Thanks to everyone who replied to my original request.
