New version of firebirdlib

Post by BobD »

I have just downloaded the latest version of firebirdlib from R2's site, and now when compiling MS I get a few errors.

The first ones are

../firebirdlib/libfirebird.h:126:1: warning: "XDATA" redefined

from an original definition in tap.h

../firebirdlib/libfirebird.h:127:1: warning: "TS_FILE_NAME_SIZE" redefined

from an original definition in hdd.h

and a few others

All I did was replace my existing firebirdlib folder with the new download, which I think has worked with previous updates for FBLib.

Anyone got any ideas what else I need to do here? Surely there isn't a new version of the standard topfield headers? I don't think I have every modified my local copies of eg tap.h and hdd.h.

I get the same errors if I try to compile some of the demos in the firebirdlb folder.

I haven't updated the lib since 07/2010 or thereabouts if that is of any help.

One very slight possibility - I've found in windows 7 (ultimate), if you unzip a folder of files they are created with the current date and time.
If you unblock the zip file first (via right click/properties) they are created with their original timestamps. Aren't timestamps significant when using "make"?

Thanks ccs, but things all look correctly stamped. All the folders have today's date, but the files all have different dates. I'm not sure it would affect the build anyway (though it would affect what was built perhaps).

Is that the latest version for 5000 models discussed in this thread?

http://forum.toppy.org.uk/forum/viewtop ... sc&start=0
Because the 5000 models are dying here in Europe, I did a big cleanup and completely removed the 5k code. This is the last version including the 5000 functions. This doesn?t mean that I won?t do any bug fixes, but the support is somewhat limited because my TF5000 Masterpiece is already sleeping in a box.

BobD, follow mstombs' link and do whatever Firebird told me to do, worked a treat.

Brilliant. That's done the trick. Thanks.

I did do a search for XDATA, but nothing came up, honest!

Mind you, it's made no difference to what I was working on, which is trying to use the FBLib code to read the Exinfo from the header. It's currently failing to read the event name or description correctly at the moment.

But at least it is compiling again!

Cheers
