@ccs: Thanks for explaining -- not sure why you didn't just say that though. The last firmware I put on was the split-NIT-fix update, which was absolutely vital to operation, as you will probably know. Anything after that -- no. Software Vers TF-NPT 5.12.25 (as supplied) (5.12.88 now updated to Bast...

@ccs Right I've added the .ini file for MyInfo and changed my signature, does that mean that it will stop rebooting now? Or to put it another way, can you explain (please) what the cryptic comment was about my machine being somehow unusual -- as you didn't proffer an expansion last time. ... and how...

I'd be very surprised if there are many people running a toppy like your signature suggests. MyInfo has an .ini file which makes clear which patches, if any, are missing. Suggest you post the MyInfo log. I'm not sure what the comment about my signature/machine means, it was generated by MyInfo in t...

Signal problems would affect both toppies. True. Quality and Strength at full-tilt on the bargraphs, and Signal Monitor agrees 100:100:100 It just did it again, while I was sat near it. Heard the hard drive spin down. Live TV had crashed (stuttering two frames alternating, BBC One), nothing to put ...

Two different models (TF5800 black panther, TF5800 silvery face-lift) Black Panther has been recapped (voltages started wandering), with decent (Farnell) caps. It runs 24/7 and has a monster size fan (running slowly) on top. 12.02/5.04v on the external molex. Silvery Facelift is much newer, not reca...

Cut-off recordings, lockups, reboots?

This is two separate TF5800's acting up at the same time. Just asking here if anyone else has noticed this over late 15th/early 16th January? Toppy 1: Recording BBC Two, watching BBC One, main picture froze - no response to remote. Power off gave four flickering dots and then a VFF on restart. The r...

Re: Film4+1

Since the last round of LCN juggling and rescan I'm having a problem tuning in Film4+1 on my 5800. Tried both Channel Organiser and Topmanager but neither of them can see LCN45. The thing is that I have LCN45 tuned in on my Samsung TV and it's fine. Anyone got any idea's ? I don't know what happens...

Seems to be working here, no rescan, no fiddling, Toppy set on "Auto". Maybe it's fixed?

Stays in the outbox until read by recipient? That's an odd system.

Ah well, received and replied!

Mains voltage is 217 V, which is at the low side It's fine -- the Topfield power supply is quite tolerant of voltage variations. Maybe Andy has experimented on one and got a low-water mark for this :) Before I had mine on a UPS, there was an "incident" here where the mains voltage dropped...

Any bitcoins you find in the wallet should be cashed in and "donated" to the site :)

The GOP size or pattern is irrelevant to instant pause or frame manipulation. Each frame can and must be decoded as a separate entity in order to display it. Absolutely, it's a matter of how much effort you put into handling it. VideoRedo (software) allows individual frame forward/backward manipula...

Surely it's "watch this space +1" ?
