S/PDIF audio delay setting

I'd like to use some wireless headphones with my TV. Naturally lip sync is a problem and the TV doesn't have a setting for audio delay on its S/PDIF output. So instead, I wondered if the digital audio out on a Topfield was adjustable. I cannot find a setting on my 5800. Should I get my 5810 out of t...

I thought that I could remember a thread about accented letters. I can't find it now using Google, so maybe I mis-remember. But Bobd's website and Chunkywizard's manual mention "Correct display of accented characters" and "Accents in Programme names and descriptions are correctly disp...

accent letters

There's a new BBC channel here in Scotland, which means I'll have to reorganise my favourites list. My first thought was just to swap out BBC ALBA, because accented letters don't display properly and Gaelic is full of accented characters. But it occurs to me that MyStuff probably ought to handle acc...

Yes, MyStuff's restore management crashed when I used it this week. Originally, MyStuff had got stuck at the load roundel stage and then not shutdown cleanly, so I accepted its offer to restore to earlier settings at startup. It crashed as described by 'shenson'. At the time, I assumed the crash whi...

I have just tested this, so here is my definitive answer. Yes. The input from the VCR Scart does indeed get output through the RF Out. I got an old portable CRT telly from the attic and plugged it into the Toppy's RF Out with coax cable. Then tuned the analogue receiver to 36 to get a picture from t...

Would 'Red Bee Media' Broadcasting Dataservices be a suitable alternative for TV schedules? Atlas apparently use it as one of their sources, https://metabroadcast.com/blog/unstruct ... edule-data , and it seemingly offers free access for registered users, http://www.bds.tv/ .

Doctor Who - The Ribos Operation

Just noticed the Horror Channel is showing classic Tom Baker/Douglas Adams serials of Dr Who. Unfortunatley I've missed the first of the Key To Time story arc. Does anyone have a copy of 'Doctor Who - The Ribos Operation'?

I would be interested to know how labour_intensive/automated they have made this process Raspberry Pi + OpenELEC + ftpd-topfield + lftp (+ screen): ssh, run a bash script. For example:- # KEH - Sept 2013 # copy files from Topfield to RaspPi USB-HDD # delete files from USB-HDD if not present on Topf...

In your scenerio, the event in the EPG between your current recording and the following timers on the same channel. So, at 19:00 you set your timer and MyStuff does its calculation. Part of which is to ask, what is happening currently? Well, at that moment it is recording BBC One, so referenced agai...

@19:00 I added bbc1 21:00-22:00 as a SL recording. What happens if you wait for the post-padding to finish, then set the timer? Maybe for six minutes Mystuff thinks it is recording the whole of the 19:00-19:30 program (hence no need for 19:28 pre-padding); right up until 19:06 when it realises that...

I can vouch for ftpd-topfield working with OpenELEC. Of course, proper back-up leads to 'mirror' and from there it is a short step to a hybrid Toppy-XBMC media centre. Well, such things need a name, and being a fan of recursive acronyms, I've dubbed mine FIXOMTEC (Fixomtec is XBMC OpenELEC Mystuff T...

Er, are those reported network speeds not rather slow? 1.3MB/s ftp and 5MB/s smb. That's more-or-less what I get from a Raspbery Pi. Shouldn't the GigaBlue and Miraclebox performance be closer to the notional 1000Mb/s and 100Mb/s?
