Have a look at 'youtube-dl', a command-line program to download from a variety of sources including ITV. It's a bit of a grey area, but it is ok to store programs on VCRs, PVRs and PCs for personal use for later viewing, and that is all this program does. The following works, and there are loads of...

I can supply a suitably wired scart to Component + Audio (5 x RCA), to connect a Toppy to a TV Component input for £9 inc. postage. Note that the ones on eBay are the other way around - i.e. RCA component device to Scart TV. Hi Andy, I'll bear that in mind thank-you. I've already ordered the below ...

Thanks Gomezz & Laser for replying, I had a rummage & found an old Scart plug & some phono leads, with the help of a pinout from this site I soldered the leads to the RGB/YUV Scart output pins & connected it up to the Amp, colours weren't good & then I read about the Vy patch &am...

Scart to HDMI converter - any sensibly priced good ones?

Hi, as per the subject line, I'm looking for a Scart to HDMI converter, sadly I don't use the Toppy for much now but I'm not quite ready to retire it. I've bought myself a new AV amp that switches HDMI (my old one was so old that it was composite switching only) & I'm looking to connect the Topp...

Still using Toppy's here, we have a 5800 facelift in the lounge & my son has a pre-facelift 5800 in his room. However, as of last week I took a punt on a 2nd Gen BT YouView box DTRT2100 (Humax) from eBay, & I have to say I quite like it, is it better than a Toppy, yes, is it better than a My...

Just looking through my updated sig, is there anything there in terms of TAP's or patches that I really should update or add for bugfixes or functionality?

(I said I'd not been around in a while  )

Hi [Vd] VolumeDisable_03' : 'Not tested with this firmware Afaik, FwLoad can't handle the Vb patch - no idea why but it's a lot smaller than usual. The HDFW tap does the job and can be used to create a base firmware that FwLoad can work with. (Sorry sig tap list is well out-of-date at time of writi...

Not been around here for quite some time (years), sorry to come wading back in with a slight problem after being a non-contributor for such a long time, basically the Toppy very rarely plays up & doesn't need the support it used to. The slight problem I have is that the volume keeps reducing dow...

Yeah, just a bit disappointed I guess, mine was a comparitively late application. I'm glad they took the trouble to reply, so many things now that you dont even get a cursory reply to. (Off topic - Aerial guy coming Wednesday to rotate aerial 90deg to vertical which is now recommended (or so I under...

yep, refusal here too, shame as I've fallen out of love with my toppy due to disc wipe again - caused by iffy signal when the weather was hot a while back - if you can remember that far back of course

I'm going to have to seriously consider a freesat recorder next time as I'd really hoped that post DSO picture breakup & interference from other transmitters (including French ones here in the south coast) would have been a thing of the past.

I kinda know what he means... Got home late Sunday evening in readiness to watch the Monaco GP (having managed to avoid the news all day) to be offered the stupid format disc Yes/Cancel options either of which make no difference. Lost the lot of course, 200Mb worth of recordings  so cheesed of...
