As far as I know there is no audio delay setting on the Topfield. However, presumably your wireless headphones are, if anything, adding delay so you'd like the audio to be earlier. Your TV should delay its audio outputs to match whatever processing time it takes for the picture so, in principle, the...

Who would have thought that the Toppy and MyStuff would still be going strong (relatively speaking anyway) after so many years? If you make something better* than everyone else, people will use it and be reluctant to abandon it. I'm not shocked that your excellent MyStuff has stood the test of time...

Curious why it differs between people. At first mine was giving a general message in the pop-up program info box. Now it has switched to giving the dated (12/12/20) message in the program description at the top of the EPG (& archive?) view. Neither case seems to affect the functionality beyond t...

MyStuff expired?

The other day I found my Toppy in an odd state of standby with no front panel display at all. I feared it had finally died, but a simple reboot fixed it and it's now working fine. Ever since, however, the first time asking for programme info gives a message along the lines of "This version of M...

Heh! That blog is good, I could almost believe they got hold of MyStuff and started picking bits to copy! It also answers a question I had about what happens with back-to-back recordings. It's getting tempting! Although I'd have to do something with the 200+ hours of stuff I have archived on the Top...

Thanks for the heads-up. I like the look of these products, and it's good they're keeping them updated. Items 2 & 3 particularly welcome.

If they had a MyStuff-like "power-search" feature they would be very tempting as a Toppy replacement.

An easier and much quicker solution, although at a cost, is to fit a larger disk drive and copy the merged recordings to the new drive. I have already replaced the original disk with a larger one and the copy process, even using a USB-to-SATA/IDE adapter, was many hours. Not to mention the software...

Cutting merged recordings

I have a large number of MyStuff merged recordings where I want to keep one part and delete the other part(s) to regain some disk space. When deleting parts of merged recordings in MyStuff it modifies its database to hide them but does not change the recorded file. What would you suggest is the easi...

In my experience MyStuff can be a bit keen to throw away its data files. Loss of EPG is fairly rare, loss of searches happens occasionally, and loss of structure (which recordings in which folder) I've seen several times. It all comes down to file corruption. On a flaky Toppy you may see these thing...

Ah, thanks guys, at least it's not just me. I don't routinely use subtitles, so it is not a problem as such. Just thought I'd see if it was something I'd done, or whether anyone knew how to fix it. I'll try disabling FontManager, maybe some other TAPs too when I have time to experiment. Since...

My Rpi setup is finished now, and has been running alongside the Toppy for a couple of months. Both have their advantages. First of all, thank you for a very well written article guiding the installation of the necessary software for the Pi. 8) This is potentially of considerable interest to me, bu...

Thanks for the responses. Sorry, my sig is out of date. According to MyInfo, apparently I do have FontManager. I don't know what it's for, I guess it was added by the MyStuff installer. The problem doesn't appear to be related to subtitle colour. It can affect one line of a two-line sentence by the ...
