Toppy for sale

I have a TF5800PVR for sale on eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162384783725?ul_noapp=true It has had its capacitors replaced by andyfras several years ago and has worked fine since then. It wiped its hard drive before Christmas, so we replaced it with a Humax, only to realise that an aerial problem ...

Thanks - couldn't find it in the manual, but couldn't believe I was the only one with the problem. Will check out ccs's link.

Option to ignore "New: " in programme names?

I've noticed that quite a few channels now prefix programme titles with "New: " to show it's a new episode. This can cause problems, firstly when creating a search, as the default is to match the title exactly, so depending on which episode you've picked to create the search with, you eith...

Thanks again for everyone's help.

Turns out it was the capacitors. andyfras has replaced them, and it's now working properly, with or without attenuators and/or boosters.

Thanks to everyone who has helped so far, but I am still no nearer a solution since phase 2 of DSO. (Everything was working perfectly before 4th April.) After experimenting with removing the booster, and/or adding fixed 6dB or 10dB attenuators, the current situation is that I have a high gain aerial...

The cables are all identical screw-in connectors into it, so I'd need a special connector to even just try bypassing it. It's a splitter box too, so this wouldn't be a permanent solution (though we are admittedly only using one output at the moment). And then surely the weaker channels would be too ...

If the signal being too strong is the problem, then on the 18th when the other MUXes are boosted too, is that likely to help as they are then all at the same level, so the booster won't boost them all so much? Or is it likely to get worse on the other channels too when they are all more powerful? I ...

That's what I feared. Pick and Dave are both 100% strength, but have 100% quality and are fine. Plugging the aerial directly into the TV doesn't give a problem, so it's not as though the TV only works because the Topfield is "reducing the overstrength signal" to it somehow (if that's even ...

Poor BBC signal after rescan - not duplicate channel problem

Hello - please can someone help? I'm getting a terrible pixellated picture and sound drop-outs on all BBC channels after yesterday's rescan. I did a factory reset before the rescan, and restarted afterwards. I've used ChannelOrganiser to remove duplicates ? BBC4, CBeebies, BBC Parliament and the BBC...

Hi, I have a quick request. I record multiple instances of programmes such as Thomas the Tank Engine, keeping five at a time, so we always have new ones, but the disk doesn't fill up. Nice feature. But if we're watching the oldest one whilst it's recording a new one, as soon as the recording is fini...

Hi Juwlz, I'm not looking for another column (the channel logo is displayed in the list anyway), just for the sorting algorithm to consistently sort by, for example, channel, when faced with two timers starting at the same time. This is probably more of a bug report than a feature request so maybe I...

I've got a quick request... In the list of timers, sorted by time, there is no second column by which they are sorted. This means that as I exclude a timer, the list sometimes reorders slightly when two timers are due to start at the same time. (This is not caused by removal of padding, when I would...

Thanks for your reply. Couldn't be bothered wasting time/money returning it so bit the bullet and reformatted - now looks like it's back OK in native form (though without recorded programmes...) I assume that as it could see EPG data correctly that meant that the HDD was still partially working and ...

Vanished hard drive?

I just came back from a couple of days away to see the message "WARNING - ALL DATA ON HDD WILL BE LOST! Proceed with format? Yes No" on the screen. Unplugging/restarting holding 0 makes no difference - it comes on, says "Verifying files and folders", then goes into this reformat ...

Excellent, thank you.

I won't embarrass myself by asking how to do that and will instead look in the manual.
