I know that DeltaMikeCharly from the Australian forum has created a TAP that patches the transponder table. This made an AUS Toppy (TRF-2400) to find all services in Mauritius. If the tuner is able to tune to the whole frequency range, this should also work for the UK. Of course, there is still a sm...

Because topfield.cc had been shut down, I had to move. The generic rule is that if you replace

http://www.topfield.cc/files/Firebird/...

with

http://tap.topfield-europe.com/firebird/...

you should have access to the old files again.

The new machines have Ethernet and therefore can download updates directly from Topfield?s server.

I guess you won't like the answer but I just know of one region that does not have HD Toppies. While there are mainly sat Toppies in Europe, there are a lot of DVBt models in Australia and I think that it would be just a minor firmware change to adapt them to the UK market. I just don?t know if ther...

There are several mechanisms that make sure that you can?t watch a recording beyond the time it is intended for. The provider may change the key from time to time, which makes the card unusable for all old, encrypted recordings, but it is also possible to allow a certain time frame in which a record...

Most links will now point to the current version, which is adapted to our HD Toppies and which doesn?t contain the old 5000 routines any more. This is the last 5k version.

It is not clear what exactly happened to the disk and by formatting the disk in the Toppy, there is no other option than to Scan/Match with TopfHDRW. The Windows disk manager can do two things: it can ?initialize? the disk, which means that it will write an empty partition table into sector 1. The D...

The TopfHDRW DiskDoctor can fix that easily, if the disk has just been "initialised". If it also has been formatted, it won?t be that easy.

If it has been formatted by the 7160, it is probably jfs.

To check if it is a reentrance problem, please try the following code: dword TAP_EventHandler(word event, dword param1, dword param2) { static bool DoNotReenter = FALSE; if(DoNotReenter) return param1; DoNotReenter = TRUE; //your code ... DoNotReenter = FALSE...

I'm thinking of a different problem. If the disk reports that it has x sectors (à 4k) and the OS assumes 512 bytes, you will only see 1/8th of the available space. What I'd really like to do is get some documentation on the Toppy file system and work out what its sector arrangement is. Try and work ...

Also the Toppy assumes 512 byte sectors so it might work if the disk correctly emulates a 512 byte layout.

Sorry for the late reply, halibut. Yes, I?ve heard about crashing TAPs, which have been copied with TopfHDRW. This might have to do with a still existing bug in the Toppie?s file system (modulo 512 size bug) where a file may end up with an unexpected file size. While this is irrelevant for recording...
