Thanks for the info. I thought that the update had messed up the drivers, but it was very handy to have it confirmed - and also a link to the driver, which saved me having to find it.

I would just like to add my thanks to andyfras . My Toppy 5810 wiped its HDD and then started showing wild fluctuations in picture quality and appeared to have trouble running My Stuff. I rushed it off to the Toppy Hospital and Andy operated on it the next day. within another 24 hours Toppy was home...

Every now and then they "forget" to put the info up. Before using rt2mei it is an idea to check this link: http://xmltv.radiotimes.com/xmltv/92.dat
That is the info for BBC1: if you get a page full of text then you are OK to run rt2mei.

It seems to have settled down to reasonable reliability during the week, but still nothing at the weekends. You can check here to see if they have anything:
http://xmltv.radiotimes.com/xmltv/92.dat
If you get a full page of print then the system is operating.

I've run the bat file now successfully and its apparently updated the toppy but the EPG data remains unchanged. I'm using mystuff (complete newb) is there anything else I should be doing to "activate" the new data? In Mystuff options select "Press OK to start a scan of all channels&q...

1: Don't know, all mine are 128kbps 2: Yes 3: You are right. I find approx 300x300 pixels at a resolution of 72pixels per cm, rgb 8-bit colour work well. 4: Yes, but between tracks you will get sound from the TV channel you are tuned to for a split second. The solution is to tune to a channel that i...

That's why it was so expensive - it can be used as either (although not at the same time)

Re: Panasonic Viera TX-32LXD700 32in LCD TV

I did buy (rightly or wrongly) a gold plated, ribbon SCART lead at the same time. It looks more like a designer belt than a cable, but has high-tech suppressors and is generally supposed to be the dog's danglies of cables. So it should be for £30, but my attitude is why spend all that money on a ne...

Glen: I go to SpecSavers for my glasses - I find that they are very good. The glasses they made for me enable me to see Alan's sig with all his Toppy details.
I suggest you pay them a visit

Does anybody know if the leaked firmware works properly in the 5810? I suspect not, except Topfield engineers who have got the 5810 to play with. If it doesn't work properly on the 5810 it is no surprise if it doesn't work on the 5800. As for the "t" - that wouldn't be there to clarify tha...

I thought it was the users who support the users. I don't remember Topfield writing or releasing this little fix.

I would love to throw my Toppies away and pay an exorbitant amount of money to get Sky and that extra four hours of Home Shopping, but I live in a block of flats with no dish or cable. :)

It really does annoy me when a channel is on Freeview for 20 hours, and all the best programmes that I want to watch or record, are broadcast in the other 4 hours.
