Re: Connect Seagate to TV Help Needed

Apologies - I thought REC2MPG made it a "normal" MPEG2 file which anything could play  As MPEG2 is an older standard, I assumed that any media player of whatever age could play it. Oh well...

Re: Connect Seagate to TV Help Needed

Converting it to mp4 is not that quick. The REC file is actually a sort of MPEG (mp2) file, so you could just try renaming it to an .mpg and see if the TV plays it. If not, there's a program around (REC2MPG) that will convert REC files to MPG files in a second or two by rewriting the header, so the ...

5Select disappeared?

I finally managed to get someone out to fix our aerial problems. There were several so it was certainly non-trivial (and non-cheap!) It meant I was able to get every channel I was expecting, including all the channels associated with Channel 5. Then I found I was getting no EPG data for 5Select. I s...

Re: TF5810 Firmware

Is there even a "Delete Series" option in the standard firmware? I though that only came with MyStuff.

Re: Topfield 5800 in 2021

What do you use for FTP? I have an old family laptop permanently attached to the Toppy which I fire up daily to do backups using a batch file calling Antares in Command Line mode. It works, but it ain't pretty. I also use it for TM

Re: Error Message: firmware was changed with a latest one

If the HDD is causing issues, it might be worth reformatting it outside the box if you can (after you've transferred anything you want to keep). Formatting on a PC will have the wrong setup for the Toppy's file system. Or do you have a spare SATA drive around that you could plug in. It should offer ...

Re: Error Message: firmware was changed with a latest one

Have you got any TAPs in AutoStart? If you can rename/delete those via Antares, it might help with your memory problem.

Re: Error Message: firmware was changed with a latest one

Just searching for that on the site brings up loads of info about firmware, TAPs and patches. Searching for "firmware has changed" "view topic" site:toppy.org.uk brings up a list of forum posts with this error. https://www.google.com/search?q=%22firmware+has+changed%22+%22view+to...

Thanks Nigel. It is much appreciated.

Is there any way to make a donation? The donation link now goes to a generic page. Happy to do it via PM if that's easier

Re: Emails for Private Messages

I was going to say that choosing "Active Topics" from the dropdown will give you a list of the most recent topic postings, sorted by date. At least it does this on other forums I'm on that have upgraded. But here, it doesn't seem to display anything :(
