The above link doesn't appear to show any issues currently (I've never used the site so may be reading it incorrectly) There are no reported issues on the Waltham transmitter (none on Nottingham either) So, it looks like you should check out the aerial, the internal cables and/or the capacitors in ...

Thanks for this. I've been going crazy this morning. Topfield showing signal strength but no quality across the board. Connected TV direct to aerial and problems again and was about to go and have a look at the aerial. On my old computer I had bookmarked a site that predicted areas to be affected by...

Toppy still in heavy use for recordings. Rarely watch direct since I've put a USB HD onto the TV which allows pause/timeshift. But sister with her TF5800 is on the Toppy for everything as she can't be bothered to deal with two sets of remotes.

Not looking forward to doomsday

You don't really need PowerShell in Windows as you can do it in the simpler command line as long as ffmpeg is on your path. Otherwise you need to add the full directory path in front of 'ffmpeg' FOR /F "tokens=*" %G IN ('dir /b *.rec') DO ffmpeg -i "%G" "%~n...

I'm slowly moving to Linux and also had 150+ recordings to convert and discovered a one line command: for i in *.rec; do ffmpeg -i "$i" (folder if not existing)"${i%.*}.mp4"; done I wonder if there is a similar ffmpeg one line script for Windows cmd though Linux scripting seems t...

The volume seems to have come back of its own accord. I suspect that the cause may well be a dusty SCART socket as the unit had been stored unused in an attic and certainly had a layer over its circuitry. I'll give it a blast of switch cleaner and a good jiggle next time I visit.

To add to my earlier post it seems that the Muxical games have rendered my Log36 aerial impotent. I'm in a bit of a hole, literally and it took a lot of experimenting to get good reception from Waltham for all channels I wanted. Alternatives were Sutton Coldfield (wrong region though) and Nottingham...

Well I hope I had. I've tried both the previously working cable and the heavier cable that came with the replacement Toppy. I suppose there is a possibility that the Toppy's SCART socket is damaged. My sister is some 20miles away so I'll have to have a look at some future stage and maybe try the com...

Just the SCART connecting the two. Very basic setup.

I suspect you have the "Vd Volume Disable" patch in the firmware (probably installed by a previous owner) Suggest you make sure any such file is removed from "\ProgramFiles\InstallerFirmware\Add" and it sub directories and then re-flash the firmware Easiest is probably to delete...

@anthony2l The tables are updated by scraping the data from the https://www.freeview.co.uk/ site (put in your postcode to get your details and then scroll down past the channel logos and click the "Detailed view" link) The LTM should have changed to 41 on 4th of March so, if it is still o...

Totally weird. My computer is a dual boot Linux and Win10Pro (originally Win7Pro which I'm sure had no such issue). Additionally if looking at the drive properties under Recent Items there is a different screen to looking at drive properties under This Computer drives. The Recent Items has a Read On...

The new files worked well and thanks for what must have been a lot of effort with such major changes. Local TV (yes I know it can cause issues) seems to be a mess. Notts TV (Waltham) according to https://ukfree.tv/transmitters/tv/Waltham is on 26 but that channel isn't even picked up by the TV direc...

Volume not changing on 5800

Just been finishing setting up a 5800 for my sister and the one thing that is not working is the volume control. The volume display shows on the screen and moves as the volume buttons are pressed but they make no difference to the sound levels which come out at TV volume levels. Using the TV control...

At the moment I can only get Antares to write to the local C drive, or the attached USB drives, if I "Run as Administrator"

I know I've not needed to do this in the past. Normal file activities behave as expected and as they should.
