Re: [SOLVED] Can't login or contact admin?: Forum upgrade disruption ...

You were not alone - I too found myself locked out after the upgrade and had to do a "reset password".

though why the BBC should treat this particular series differently is unclear. Think about all the non-Toppy, non-MyStuff users out there. If I need signed programmes I want to be able to set a Series Record for just the signed programmes in the series. Similarly if I only want the non-signed progr...

DX: Thanks for the clarification. So did I do this correctly ??? Because my original fault is still there, ie: Q: Do I need to install EmptySettings.tfd before installing the new firmware ? OK: I didn't use file: EmptySettings.tfd because the 'Toppy Firmware Installer' seemed to find & install ...

DX: 'To clear the corrupt flash memory have a look for EmptySettings.tfd' Q1: Do you mean look for this file on my PVR ? Q2: If so, what do I do with it when I've found it ? A1. No, I meant look on this forum for a link to a downloadable file EmptySettings.tfd, or google for it. I think there is a ...

The message is a bit misleading. The flash memory layout changed when the series link firmware was released and so a reset was needed when old firmware got upgraded. Unfortunately the message also appears when the flash memory gets corrupted, which is what I suspect has happened. To clear the corrup...

Maybe MS noticed the surge of new users stealing their data and closed the loophole? I don't think so, the guide feed has been hit and miss for a while. Media Center isn't availabke on Windows 10 and the development team disbanded so I don't think Microsoft put much effort into maintaining the feed...

The MCE EPG listing tend to be a bit hit and miss at times. It may be worth checking this thread for the state of play

They must get their data from somewhere so it might be worth contacting the TiVo Community for a chat. The UK TiVo Series 1 diehards (myself included) are now based at www.altepg.com and use the same Atlas data. The people behind the guide data software are currently having much the same conversati...

The vast majority is 2.0 but there is the occasional film or series in 5.1 (I think Doctor Who was 5.1).

I did do this many years ago (is it really 10 years since I bought my Toppy  ) At the time I used a combination of Nero Vision and ProjectX. I used Nero Vision to edit the source video and output the result as an MPEG 2 *.mpg file then used ProjectX to convert the *.mpg to a Topfield MPEG 2 T...

Hi DX, I've been looking at this one . Besides HDMI it also has component & composite video jacks, but it doesn't seem to have SCART. Any particular reason for choosing that Samsung? You can get 48" 4K Ultra HD sets from Sony, Panasonic or LG all of which have scart sockets. If it must be ...

Have you a particular TV in mind? If not I think you will find most new TV's still have a scart input, so if you want to keep using your Toppy why not just choose one of them?

Re: Topfield Android PVR's - 6211?

It appears the Fox T2 might be the best option but have come across the T6211 android pvr - does anyone know whether this, or any of the other new Topfield models, will work in the UK? IMHO you would be best avoiding the T6211 or any other new Topfield model. They aren't intended for the UK market ...

3) I haven't contacted R2-D2. Based on previous requests for the EPG2MEI code, I doubt that this would be successful (R2-D2 used a special compiler that handle the gp register when calling routines; he lost this when his disk was corrupted. He also no longer owns a toppy) I remember R2-D2 was reluc...
