Re: Hello again ...

I notice that "unread" highlight marks are not being cleared when posts/threads are read.

Edit: Not sure if that is strictly accurate, but there is something wrong with the highlighting of thread names on the index pages.

Just bumping this (very old) thread because it applies again today. though it looks as if the problem may be fading towards the end of the day.

I was not talking about signal strength, but signal quality. It is absolutely essential that it remains above 98% as measured by the signal monitor or by TopManager, or you will get this problem often.

It is no use relying on the look of the picture, you must use the measurements.

macmac: Unless the reception problem mentioned in Post 1 has cleared, this issue is likely to repeat time and again. It is known that Toppys wipe their disks if the quality figure on any Mux in use drops below 99%.

Re: Recommend dual freeview tuner E2 pvr please?

Thanks for all your replies. As my toppy has “moments now and then, and I’m upgrading the TV, I’m researching updating my PVR. I’ve scoured World Of Sattelite, but can’t see any with dual FreeView tuners. Does anyone know of a model still on sale? The choice today seems to be between t...

Quite possibly lost any existing recordings as well. That happened to mine a few years back (when it was still working!). It was caused by interference problems from a distant transmitter due to a lift.

Any signal quality value below 98% has been found to cause a risk of disk wipes.

Sounds like you have had the classic disk wipe caused by a poor quality signal. The Toppy is well known for it (and there is no known fix to prevent it happening) so it comes as no surprise.

Until you get your signal problems sorted out you run the risk of this happening repeatedly.

Bad timing.:) Better read this...... https://www.freeview.co.uk/help/22-jun-2020-channel-broadcast-changes This mostly affects COM7/8, which the Toppy cannot receive anyway. Perfectly true. About the only effect that it will have on the Mux which Toppys can receive is the arrival of a few obscure c...

High pressure problems - Take Care

During this period while many people are suffering interference to their TV due to the weather conditions, take great care with using Toppys. These conditions can cause signal quality to nosedive, something which Toppy boxes hate and which can cause disk wipes to happen If you have something else to...

If you have MyStuff installed, there is an option in the "Y" section of the options to turn off at a specific time, if that helps. Thank you for getting back to me. Some useful info there. Perhaps your right. It's just that my daughter had a house fire a few years ago caused by DVD player...

I noticed this last night when Film4+1 turned into E4+1. Apparently I shouldn't have been affected on the main Emley Moor mast. I'd already retuned after the 23/10 event I think that was a separate exercise to the major North East retune event, and so probably affected the whole country, but only i...
