Thanks for the above comments....

Software is OK then...

Changed fuse in plug from 5amp to 13 amp and back to a new 5 amp.
Changed sockets in wall to 3 different locations......still dead as a dodo

Hi I re-scanned the PVR last night to get the new Channel 4 prog and when it finished I had duplicate channels. Channel 1000 displayed on the Toppy front is channel 43 650mz according to the 'info' display.
The TV screen announces that "Channel 5 has moved etc"
Can't find out how to delete this channel though

OK The deed is done.I took the Toppy to my desktop PC and the firmware upgrade worked first time.It seems that I must have a com problem with my 2 year old yet hardly used Dell laptop. I have just uninstalled the TFD-USB program. Changed the USB cable to one that works with my scanner which I used today OK, and the same problem. The display goes down to dn93 then flashes E-15.
