We could add a section to the download library for these patches, but like all such things, it's one thing to say "Please will you add it" and quite a different one to keep it up to date.
If someone were to volunteer to do the latter, then I'll happily code the necessary database changes. |

Corrupt .tfd? Or already patched?
Certainly not already patched as a couple of others are and the patcher says so. In both cases the message is "Not intended for this firmware" or similar.
Don't think it can be corrupt tfd, as it runs OK. Have tried re-downloading tfp's with no luck.
Patcher is version 3.2.1.0 dated 8/2/07 - is this the latest?

Yes, it is. I just downloaded everything from the links and tested it out. It works fine. I was thinking it might be a browser problem, but DeadBeef's Timer V4 patch is in a zip file, so it can't be that. DeadBeef's is generic but still ought to fit, and Timer T2b has the specific patch in it for (a valid) 5.13.59. |

Seeing as there's no set standard, I've tried to attribute a letter to each type of patch so they vaguely make sense and don't clash. Maybe this will be the start of a standard. |

Maybe we have to start with two letters soon. |

Hi R2-D2,
I?ve crossed checked all available lists and have the following comments:
- Simon?s Disable Master Pin is missing and I haven?t seem him assigning a letter to the patch
- My CableReady Patch [C] is missing. It prevents the reset of the channel list on Finnish cable Toppies.
- Harvey?s EPG patch uses the letter ?E? which clashes with your short description patch.
I?ve also linked my thread to your list.
Regards, Alex |

Thanks for doing that! I've updated the list and chosen some new letters (and tried to mark the justification for them in the text, too). |

Downloaded 5.13.59 again, and the patching worked this time. Starnge that it the apparently corrupt version worked OK on the Toppy! Thanks for the help.

I think I've managed to update DeadBeef's Timer V4 patch to include some more firmwares, including TF5700, so I've updated the list with a link to it. |

Do you R2-D2 have plans to add this patch
http://forum.toppy.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=117263#117263
also to your list?
Even it is quite low level stuff, I think it could also be listed.
And of course I would also add it into TAPWorld, but I really would need a better description for it before I can add it (read: description, which tells me what the hell this patch does ) |

Added the Debug Extension and also added a link to an updated EPG patch that seems to work for more TF5000 firmwares. |

Yesterday I patched my FW with the Short Description patch. I'm using mei2archive and was having a few issues with the loading of the EPG data:
Loading EPG after switching to a channel on an other satellite would take up to a minute.
Loading EPG after playback also could take up to a minute, and in both cases sometimes a restart was needed to get the EPG going again.
To be honest I wasn't expecting much because my issues where different then one the patch was made for, but to my surprise the issues above are solved by the patch. The loading of the EPG is now much faster.
Thanks for the great work, and also thanks for the updated EPG patch I was looking for that.

Just a note to say that some firmwares (at least all the TF57x0 ones) already has the HDD patch (H) integrated "out of the box".
EDIT: One of the patches (unsure which one ATM) seems to have also solved the "No transmission or encrypted" error message (and video freeze) that would occur 9 times out of 10 (or more) when resuming interrupted playback of an unencrypted file through a TAP like MyStuff or MediaManager (it was not solved simply with the unpatched firmware upgrade, the improvement has occurred after I've applied a bunch of patches). Nice! |
