You might know it would be mine that won't play ball.

I followed the instructions in Nigel's firmware upgrade guide to the letter. Hell, I even got up off my *r*e and turned the thing off with the button on the front rather than use the remote.

Before turnijng it off I checked I could see both sides in Altair (sounds like a place in Yorkshire).

"Wait Download" duly appeared on the USB Firmware uploader.

Turned on the Toppy...

C456.....rrun.....UKTV History

Can still see both sides of Altair

Firmware still the old 11.52 whatever

Is it me or my Toppy that's done it wrong?

I believe this has been mentioned before.

Did you close Altair before uploading the firmware?

If not, I think it will fail.

Nigel's guide didn't tell me to, so, no, I didn't.

Hang on....

Well, thanks very much. You definitely need to close Altair.

New firmware loaded. Very Happy

Anybody know anything about why a PCMCIA DVB-T card antenna made for Germany won't work in the UK? Just a longshot, but while I have your attention Wink

You're welcome. Smile

I'm afraid I can't help with the DVB-T card antenna though.

Whilst on the subject of updating firmware, Turbosat have produced their own version of instructions, which differ slightly from the instructions you used.

The pdf file can be found here:

http://www.heathrowsystems.com/downloads/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=23

(The last two pages refer to the firmware update).

Some folks also carry out a factory reset, just to be sure.

I used this method last time and my Toppy has been rock solid ever since! Smile

While you're on...

I read the guide about installing TAP's and installed the bookmarks one so that I don't have to watch the wife scroll through 90 minutes of file to get to the point where Tim Henman finally won only to find that the recording had cut off during the last game, and...

the bookmarks tap doesn't do anything. Does it do it for you?

Yes, it's in the Autostart folder along with the .ini file.
