I'm sure I'm not the only one looking forward to the new series on Saturday!  Shame the Toppy won't be here in time to record it! Sad

Well if you wanted to record Dr Who then you might want to record this:

Quatermass

BBC Four, Sat 2 Apr, 20:20-22:20  120mins  Stereo  Widescreen

I don't know which series it is.

I quite enjoyed Dr Who. One of my friends sat behind the sofa the whole time, but that was probably more nostalgia than anything else.

On the whole, pretty good, I though. I liked Christopher Eccleston. And Rose was absolutely right to ditch the whiny blubbering boyfriend.

As for Quatermass, the BBC4 thing is apparently going to be done live, and it's the original Quatermass Experiment script, as far as I gather.

I've got Quatermass and the pit on LaserDisc. Must dig it out sometime and see if it still plays.

Nigel.

All of the original Quatermass serials are about to be released on DVD.  They've been given the same treatment as Doctor Who releases get (clean up, restoration etc) and are said to be excellent.

I was pleased with episode one of the new series (although I'm one of the naughty ones who downloaded it first!)  There were a few aspects of it which I thought could have been done better but on the whole, bearing in mind they were trying to introduce the series to a new audience, it was very good.

I'm a bit concerned by episodes 4 & 5, though, where the aliens kill people by passing wind!

How much are they repeating Doctor Who? I think it was on Sunday night, but is it on at any other stage during the week?

Would be handy if we can get a chance to grab the first episode with a Toppy.

Nigel.
