I just wanted to notify you about Info Viewer. It's a basic replacement for topfields default infobox with following features:
    - Current and next program + small info
    - Progress bar and remaining time
    - Detailed information available from i -button
    - Possibility to scroll programs forward / backward

Freely confurable options include: Time how long the dialog is displayed, what colors are used, what keys are used (for some keys) etc.

More information and pictures etc. available at the home page http://personal.inet.fi/private/tap/info_viewer.html

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

Hi Toni,

I really like this and am going to keep using it.

However, I cannot move through the programmes using the arrow buttons?

Sounds like a by-product of the peculiar mapping of keys on the TF5800.

Most likely it's possible to fix the key problem with the .ini file. There's possiblity to give the hex-values of the keys:

#Key to select next program
NEXT_KEY 0x10043

#Key to select previous program
PREV_KEY 0x10041

Those are for TF5100/5200, but maybe someone knows the correct values for TF5800.

// arrow left/right
#define RKEY_VolDown 0x1000f
#define RKEY_VolUp 0x10015

// arrow down/up
#define RKEY_ChDown 0x1001d
#define RKEY_ChUp 0x10012

Using the defaults, it should work using the Pip and Text buttons

I'll try it now.

I've tried using bellissimo's value for left/right but it's now working with the V+/V- keys.

Yep, using the above hex values it should work with BOTH the volume and left/right keys (or channel change and up/down keys). To get it to work with the arrow keys only, the code needs to have a tweak for RemoteExtender compatability.

Toni,

Installed this tap and changed the Up/Down for Next/Previous as per bellissimo's hex values. It works very well.

One quick question though. Does this make use of Description Extender? I ask as when playing a file, if you bring up the info box twice to show the complete description it cut's off the end of the description.

Thanks Smile

There are four values from Belissimo, so I only used the top two (as I want it to work on left/right)

here is what I currently have in the .ini, which only works with the V+/V- keys

I am using the non-EN version of infoviewer

Quote:
#########################################
# OPTIONS #
#########################################

#Time to display info box when i button pressed (100 = 1 sec)
DISPLAY_TIME 600

#Time to display info box after channel change
DISPLAY_TIME2 300

#Time to display volume
DISPLAY_TIME3 100

#How often the screen is updated (200 = every 2 seconds)
UPDATE_INTERVAL 200

#How often the screen is updated right after channel change
UPDATE_INTERVAL2 50

#Is volume bar handled by Info Viewer (values 0/1)
HANDLE_VOLUME 1

#Key to open Info Viewer
INFO_KEY 0x10014

#Key to select next program
NEXT_KEY 0x1000f

#Key to select previous program
PREV_KEY 0x10015

# To change keys see http://personal.inet.fi/private/tap/keys.html (or KEY.H from topfield)

Could there be another TAP which is grabbing the arrow key?

You could try running it as the only TAP and see if that makes a difference.

It should work fine also with Description Extender. At least for me it works without any problems Smile

I don't think Description Extender works for descriptions of 'playing' files. The API will return only 128 characters in this scenario.

Oh yes of course, It doesn't do anything with playing files -- and if the files have some extra time before the actual start time at least I many times have the description from the previous program.
