[UK Auto Scheduler v0.70]
Download available via website
http://www.sl8.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/UkAuto/website/index.html
Changes
'Already recorded' option added. When selected, UKAS will only record new programmes and ignore repeats. (Rv)
Advanced searches added. (Rv)
Uses 'ProgramFiles/Settings/UkAuto' folder to store all UKAS ini files.
Some screen titles and options renamed.
Big thanks to Rv for the 'Already recorded' option and advanced searches.
The 'Already Recorded' option is selected by setting a search to 'Record New - Ignore Repeats'. Once selected, UKAS checks in a database of previously recorded programmes to see if it has already recorded the programme or not. If not, the programme is scheduled for recording and a new entry is made into the database. Each programme has its own database file and each entry consists of a hash of the description of the programme.
As long as all the descriptions for each episode in a series are different, the 'Record New - Ignore Repeats' option will make sure you only record episodes that you have not seen before.
The database can be deleted if required via the main menu.
To enable an advanced search, toggle the 'Partial'/'Exact' match option to 'Advanced' then use the following special characters in the search string:
+ AND
| OR
~ NOT
* Wildcard
_ Wild character
^ tie the search string to the beginning of the search line
$ tie the search string to the end of the search line
Brackets can also be used.
e.g.
^star+(wars|trek)
will find 'Star Wars' and 'Star Trek' but not 'The Making Of Star Wars'
An advanced search can be performed on the title and/or the description including the extended description.
When v0.70 is run for the first time it will create a 'ProgramFiles/Settings/UkAuto' folder and then transfer all the UkAuto ini files from the 'UK TAP Project' folder to this new UkAuto folder.
UKAS will also attempt to load logos from 'ProgramFiles/Settings/Logos' folder before looking in the 'UK TAP Project' folder. |

Are there specific changes to the UkAutoRemote file that accomodate the new options?
If so, I'll work at adding them to Toppy Remote Control over the holidays.

Does it only work from Autostart?
I put it in Program Files so I could try it out but it doesn't do anything when I try to load it, and there aren't any entries shown for it in TSRCommander to configure or exit it.
I normally use Recall for EPGNavigator so I tried exiting that first, then I tried rebooting and exiting that first... Either way, I can't get UKAS 0.70 to load.
I'm not planning to start using it just yet so it's not really important. I'll probably wait til the timer conficts have been dealt with. Is that a fundamentally difficult problem to solve because of the way UKAS works? |

I tried to solve it once with my limited time, C-skills and lack of debugging possibilities.
What I did find out was that Toppy does not tell you the conflicting timer in some situations. And because of that you have to loop through all timers and check what timer is the trouble maker. |

Presumably entries remain in the database until this happens. Could there be an option to automatically remove programmes after, say, a month*?

* or other user specified period I suppose if the entry was deleted a month after it was last accessed then this would mean that either the search which created the entry has been deleted and is no longer required or the series has finished and there are no more repeats.
Cheers morph, I'll mention it to Rv. |

Do you still have plans to add this feature? |

I was thinking more that most programmes will only be repeated in the week or so following the initial transmission. The data need only be stored for this period and can hten be discarded. If you want to protect against repeated series then that would obviously mean keep all data no matter how long it is since the last hit. |

Getting a wierd error, ive got Angelas' Eyes in UKAS on Five life, if I press the green button, it finds the program but doesnt mark for record. If I highlight & press recordit sets it. But its not doing it automatically. Every other search is fine.

Excuse my ignorance, should AutoSchedular place a Record mark in the EPG? Because if I look at the guide, there are no marks for scheduled recording. If I manually try and mark a Record, then I get a confliction report on-screen. So there must be some marking done AutoSchedular, but how come I cannot see it on the guide, so as to speak?

If you use EPGnavigator then the programs selected by Auto Scheduler are marked correctly (red for recording, green for watch) in the EPG view. With EPGnavigator I can revert back to the Toppy EPG where the same programs are NOT marked in the native Toppy EPG.
EPGnavigator provides support for UK Auto Scheduler
