I noticed when I unzipped the download there's JAGs EPG.tap and JAGs EPG TF5800 EDITION.tap. I presume its the latter that should be copied?

Yes,
the file "Jags_EPG.tap" is the standard version for the TF5000/5100/5500 PVR
and the "Jags_EPG_TF5800-Edition.tap" is the special version for the TF 5800!

The standard version support the "newSoft" Mode of the TF 5800 PVR too,
but the TF5800 Edition uses other default settings!

Install only one of this TAP files!

Excellent tap....many thanks.

A minor point....when in single channel mode I notice that the channel number is incorrect. ie it says 15 UKTV Gold instead of 17 UK TV Gold. I presume its the 15th stored channel, as there are gaps. But it'd be nice to show the right channel number.

Thanks for this great TAP.
Are there any plans to integrate it with favourite lists?

I have the same (minor) problem - is there a solution?

Otherwise, this tap is brilliant!

Many thanks Jag!! Very Happy

I hope Jag takes it as a complement that the only issue is with something so minor (or petty?).

It's just i'm used to the channel numbers.....even though the channel description is next to it....I see the channel number first and think, in this case, 15 = ABC1

Limiting the EPG to favourites would be nice....but it is such an improvement over the original epg....many thanks.

unfortunately the Topfield favorite lists can not be read with the TAP API, so I have none access to the stored favorite lists!

The problem with the logical channel numbers seems only on the Tf5800, but I can not test itself, I have not a TF 5800! On a TF5000 I can easy modify and sort the service list manually (Topfield "Menu" -> "Organizing Services"), so I have none gaps in the channel list!

What if you created a new favourite list just for your EPG?
Or set up a list in an ini file?

Is it possible to see the full programme description using Jag's EPG (a la pressing i for the Toppy standard EPG? Clearly the beginning appears on the info line at the bottom of the EPG box so it somehow has partial access to the information!

Not yet, no.

You can invoke the old EPG to view it though by simply pressing 0 (zero) before your guide button. This overide works with any button, not just guide.
