To give us an idea of how many users do have a CAM in their Toppy, please vote in this poll.

NB. Please do note vote in this poll if you are not in the UK; we'd like fairly accurate information, and people from outwith the UK voting will skew the results.

Nigel.

Its a no for me, it was the USB connection that sold it for me. Not the ability to get Top-UP, although a useful future proofing feature.

IMHO: Top Up TV provides a revenue to the channels it carries and when the number of people who can get Freeview but not Top Up TV reaches a certain level the channels on Top Up Tv will start to lose advertising revenue compared to the money they could earn from a larger, non-Top Up Tv enabled viewer base. It's a bit late and I know that I am not expressing this as well as I might but I hope you catch my drift.

BTW, are you Scottish, Nigel?

No, but I have quite a few Scottish friends. And I am particularly fond of "outwith." It's a lovely word.

Nigel.

I only discovered the toppy due to my searching around for a freeview box that had a twin-tuner hard disk recorder and CAM slots for TUTV.

I just bought a Toppy for my pal from Turbosat. Well, I thought I may as well have the CAM & Card that Turbosat was "giving away".

So I segned up with TopUpTV this week.

I've watched 5 minutes of Gold.

Last night the wife finished reading the new Argos catalogue and I caught her looking through pots of paint in the loft. So, if it has worked (and this is something I would NEVER say on DS) I should have some nice snooker from Belfast for her to watch courtesy of Eurosport.

as rob said earlier, i came across the toppy by doing a search for tutv-hdd.
i do have tutv as i'd hate to be without Discovery, and im kind of guessing it will take off and get better variety when we get closer to analogue switch off.
be really nice to have all the uktv channels via cam, i'd pay 8 quid a month for that.
