toppy locks up in channel 30 (CBeebies) - manually can move around channels but machine remains jammed - can't use remote to go to standby etc and rest of remote does not respond. Manual standby works ok - but still locked when using remote.

Changed batteries on remote - machine unlocks and works ok again. Thought it was the batteries even though only 2 days old since last freeze. However, then put in old batteries again - this time remote works ok!

happended twice in 3 days - toppy 7 days old. Changed batteries twice in seven days now.

Am I looking a t software issue, a remote issue or the toppy itself?

Clone, Will try my toppy on channel 30 (not normal viewing for me) and test it out.

Could it be a dogey remote ??

Sounds like that, if you are replacing the batteries and the remote works ok then what you are effectively doing is resetting the remote.

Clone,

Just checked my Toppy and Cbeebies is Channel 31 on mine. Channel 30 is CBBC.

Maybe there is a slight error in programme numbering from your initial scan? Maybe delete the affected Channel/s and rescan - worth a try. [Could always go for a factory re set and then do a rescan of all channels if nothing else works].
