WOAHHHHH......

By new version of MyStuff, I mean the BRAND new (ie imminent, and not yet released) version. Existing versions of MyStuff won't load the file produced by eit2mei.

You won't have long to wait though - keep an eye on the MyStuff thread Very Happy.

Ahhh, right. Only found one reference to MyStuff in the TAP list, so assumed I had the "new" one. Will keep watching....

I know MyStuff was running, as kept getting it for info presses (with no data though!). Do I have to remove JAG's completely and load them on via Altaire in the right order?

No! Just use simonc's TAPcommander TAP. You activate the TAP once loaded by pressing Menu twice. Pressing archive will bring up a list which allows you to reorder the Auto-start TAPS into the load order you want. Don't forget to save your changes though!

If I'm going to be getting rid of JAG's, what alternative is there for searches?

There's the UK Auto Search TAP, which will do searches on the Toppy's internal (EIT) data.

I don't know if there'll be something in the next version of MyStuff or not, since I'm not a user.

Nigel.

No, of course not!

MyStuff currently checks the time/date stamp on a file to establish its age. Files generated by TAPs all have the same time/date stamp (is it 01/01/2003??), so any TAP generated MEI file will currently cause MyStuff to say "MEI File is out of date".

The newest version of MyStuff (due soon.... really soon) has an option to use Freeview.mei, as generated by eit2mei default settings, and it bypasses the checking of the time/date stamp.

just a quick note to say that you need to do a 2min recording to re-order taps. not a 20 sec one.

may have been a typo but may help

Ah, that would explain why it didn't work? Smile

Laughing Well, I'm glad my question interested you all!
I see that the latest mystuff is now out, so I shall be giving that a go. I do kind of feel I've missed out in a way -- when I first started researching the Toppy, jags EPG seemed to be THE THING... although I'm sure the new Mystuff will be as good as you all say it is! It's weird, but I do feel slightly disloyal to Jag -- but then I never had enough time to try it, so never experienced the niggles you all have...
it's all such a learning curve!

MeiSearch, if you are using MEI data, though it only searches in the titles, not the descriptions.
