Having helped and been helped by the friendly people on this board, I thought it'd be good to start a Lost & Found thread. This will hopefully be the place to come to find recordings in .rec or DVD format of programmes you've missed or erroneously deleted.

What I propose is that everybody who is interested makes a post detailing what they regularly record. That way, by glancing through the thread you can see which users may be able to help you find the recording you are searching for.

Rules
1. Only make one post. if you change the items you are recording simply edit your original post. This will keep the thread to a manageable size.
2. Ask for the recordings by PM (private message) only. Please do not post requests in this thread. Don't forget to quote date and time as well as the name of the programme you're looking for.

So, without further ado, here is my list:

BBC1
Medium (Tue), Egypt (Sun)

BBC2
Later... Jools Holland (Fri), Dragon's Den (Tue)

C4
Lost (Wed), Futurama (All)

E4
Lost (Wed), Futurama (All)

More4
Curb Your Enthusiasm (Sun)

matt

Great idea Matt, see below for mine. Note, I do not archive any of these to DVD so they might be gone a day after they are recorded. Also some of these are for SWMBO before anyone makes comments about the programme list Wink

BBC1: Doctor Who

BBC2: Journey into the Ring of Fire, Top Gear

ITV1: Nothing at the mo

Channel4: How Clean Is Your House, Grand Designs, Green Wing, Lost, My Name is Earl

five: CSI (all versions), House, Killer Instinct, NCIS, Shield, Voyager

BBC3: Doctor Who Confidential

SKy3 Battlestar, The 4400

E4: Derren Brown, Desparate Housewives, Sugar Rush, The Album Chart Show

Cheers

These are all kept on regular search. I tend to delete immediately after watching so if I happen to be watching live then it'll get dumped straight after. I don't have a DVD burner so I can only supply via a private torrent or FTP so you'll need to be on broadband. It'll take a while but before I got my Toppy I'd download off of bittorrent, once you start the download just forget about it, it'll get there eventually.

Curb your Enthusiasm
Scrubs (Although they're just showing S1 over and over and I'm not watching it until they start on S2)
Futurama
Lost
Medium
10 yrs younger (the missus)
Room 101 (repeats at the mo tho)
Hex (again, the missus)
Monkey (waiting for the last episode as I got bored after the first few, not as good as I remembered)
Dragon's Den (late night repeats at the mo tho, not watching myself)
Two Ronnies
Father of the Pride
HIGNFY
My Name is Earl

Due South* (all series one and some of series two archived)
Last of the Summer Wine**
Hercules Poirot*
Keeping Up Appearances~
Jeeves and Wooster~
Paul Merton's Silent Heroes~

* I keep these for a few days at least, and if we don't already have the episode, and we like it, we archive it.
** We keep all these - although we have more on VHS, the Panasonic is awaiting repair at the moment.
~ We keep these long enough to watch and then delete.

The first, and possibly the last, is all you need.

IMO this thread has very limited usefulness for current programmes. It's far simpler to post a separate request (as most of us do) and hope that it will be read (as most of us will).

This thread may however be useful in connecting people who are trying to build collections. If that's what you are doing, feel free to PM me. Duncan

Collections I am building....

Star Trek (any series except DS9), New Doctor Who, and Buffy (not Angel).

CSI (all series), and Law & Order (all series).

Agatha Christies's Poirot, Inspector Alleyn Mysteries, Foyle's War.

Upstairs Downstairs Embarassed [it's for SWMBO, honestly]

SWMBO also collects cookery travel [Floyd, Chew...]

In what follows be aware that I favour BBC/Discovery/UKTV History
and deprecate Channel 5, because I like education not personalities
.

Almost any Natural History series (I have lots and lots)
[Natural World, Blue Planet, Shark People, Ape Man....]

Almost any Hard Science or Engineering series (I have lots and lots)
[Horizon, The Planets, Light Fantastic, Extreme Engineering....]

Almost any Geography or History Series (I have over 30)
[Coast, Simon Schama, Himalaya, Landscape Mysteries...]

Almost any WW1 and many WW2 series (and a few other wars).

A few really good classic >UK< drama series
[Tinker Tailor, Brideshead, Quatermass, 20,000 Streets, ...]

My regular TV recordings :

Heroes
The Innocence Project
New Tricks
Silent Witness
Spooks
Ugly Betty
Will & Grace
House
NCIS

The last three are kept (to watch in bulk sometime from the start of the season), the rest will be deleted once watched, but that could be between a day or two and weeks later .

Also record Shaun the Sheep for the smaller household members Smile

Radio 4 : Case Notes, Heroes Radio Show, I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue, Law In Action, Money Box, Material World, More or Less, The News Quiz, The Now Show

I convert all of these to mp3 to listed to on my mp3 player.

Gary.
