I think that what ccs is implying is that, as this is the main bbc mux, you should have a good signal on it (unlike some others that are transmitted at lower power i.e. you should expect to have a quality of 100 on this mux so your aerial path/mechanism is not as good as it should be.

Have you checked the signal levels in your other aerial position? - this might be at 100 (indicating a difference in the cabling).

As ccs says, the disk wipe was not necessarily caused by the signal levels you posted. It could however have been caused by a temporary loss of signal e.g. power to a booster or something like water in the aerial downlead.
Reseating the cables night help.

Note: it would be better if you could post the actual results rather than just interpreting/stating what you saw (it leads to less confusion and eliminates misunderstandings).

I'm assuming that you have had the capacitors changed in the affected unit.

So i have tested the 5810 again using TM (not the original Toppy in question) as you can see slightly different.

Code:
               Strength T1    Quality T1     Strength T2    Quality T2
Channel      Min  Ave  Max  Min  Ave  Max  Min  Ave  Max  Min  Ave  Max
  27 (PSB1)     95   95   95  100  100  100  100  100  100  100  100  100
  24 (PSB2)     94   94   94  100  100  100  100  100  100  100  100  100
  51 (COM4)     95   95   95  100  100  100  100  100  100  100  100  100
  52 (COM5)     92   92   92  100  100  100   98   98   98  100  100  100
  48 (COM6)     96   96   96  100  100  100  100  100  100  100  100  100

The aerial only feeds this one TV, the main lounge TV. The aerial is spretty dam good and the cable is top quailty sat grade.

No booster.

It is in the loft, so no water in question.

The aerial for the 5800 with the current issue is a simliar set up, feeding just that TV/Toppy in a bedroom.

The 5800 has not had it's caps changed, the only one of my 5 that hasn't yet showed a sign to do so, so maybe.

Those muxes all show 100 for quality (just what you want). This shows that the aerial, the cable and the toppy are all working properly.
If the signals aren't as good where the disk was wiped then this would indicate a cabling problem (although it sounds minor)

A toppy behaving unusually can indicate that the psu is failing and, if it is, anything could happen disk wise. Suggest you get the caps replaced or swap it with one of your other toppies (assuming not all in use)

Might be worth checking that you have no loose wires in the wall socket (someone had an issue with this previously) and/or change the cable to the wall and/or change/re-seat the loopback cable.

If using a joint FM/TV wall plate, check you are plugged into the TV output - I ran for several month with occasional but regular interference because it was plugged into the FM socket (in my defence, the socket was out of sight and I connected by feeling for it)
When I actually got around to measuring the signals they were not "good"; swapping to the TV socket returned a 100% signal and removed the interference)

I'll do the same signal test on the other ariel soon.

The TV with this 8500 doesn't pick up Dave but the toppy does. The TV picks up Dave ja vu but the Toppy doesn't. Odd

In the lounge the 8510 picks up Dave but no Dave ja vu (it knows Dave ja vu is there but no info or picture) TV picks up both with picture.

It's nothing to do with MyStuff - it's a bug in the Toppy firmware.

There's a LONG thread about what causes it: disk wipes due to poor signal

Julie
Maybe this thread ought to be moved from the 'MyStuff' topic to somewhere more appropriate?

So i went for the abandon and loose all HDD content and formatted it.

Have done a fresh install of MS6.6

As soon as it rebooted it crashed and asked do i want to enter recovery mode.

Have since used channel organiser, it crashed and rebooted as it finished asking about recovery mode.

Then updated the freeview.dat and used channel organiser again, no crash as it exited this time.

But maybe something is up, each time i turn on, it says recovery mode?

Try leaving it running long enough (25 mins) for EPG2MEI to generate the epg file that MS uses (MS incorrectly enters Recovery mode if there it doesn't find any valid records in the EPG file).
