The PC was in Sleep mode but I have connected with Toppy from this state many times before. The Toppy was in Standby and restarted normally.

Will restart the PC next time after present PC activity.

".....adjusted the power saving in the USB ports" - never heard of such a thing! Pls elucidate - thanks.

I'll google it.

Geoff you wrote, " It sounds as though the white key is set to + 1 minute - if you press it quickly twice it should display 2 minutes."

Pressing it twice or more does not alter the 1 hour countdown.

I have my old Tap notes which says pressing Exit brings up QJ configuration menu (Options). It does but the red button says +3.00 but I have it set in Options for +4 (240 secs). The others are OK. Perhaps this menu does not show current options but only if one wishes to change them?

Anyway I changed the White button to 'Ignore' and it has solved the Timers problem!! but it has changed the front panel channel numbers to native style, P001 eg.! Perhaps a re boot will solve that but at least it does not oscillate between channel no. and time which I don't like.

Geoff, your observation, "I'm guessing what you call the "Time Shift pop up" is in fact QuickJump " was spot on which led to the resolution.

Just for your info 'Time Shift' is the heading on that pop up. And with the running 1 hour countdown showing would not, certainly to me, indicate it had anything to do with the QJ configuration so your 'guessing' is quite a skill.

So thanks for helping to clear this glitch up.

PS I left the Toppy on Standby last night (from its front panel P001 state)and I see now it has switched itself on and back to the oscillating time/channel state. These Toppys have lives of their own so they are certainly not boring!

The front panel is only oscillating because of what you did! i.e. you installed the TF5000 Display tap.

I don't use it so can't advise how it should be configured.

Geoff

If you mean that I installed the TF5000 Display TAP for you, I did because you had it previously. I don't use it myself, so I know very little about setting it up.

If you don't want it, take it out of Autostart.

I use the Display Tap, but it is the first thing I stop when I have problems, it does seem to slowdown user interface when starting/stopping recordings, it also uses the EXIT button for configuration by default.

You can easily change MyStuff Timers to the LIST button - which actually seems very sensible, given that white often used for 'delete' ...

Yes you are right - it being there from the previous owner before I got it.
