Are Series Linked recordings available?

yes they call it AutoTimer, i don't think it is the Freeview Series link.

I have set up several AutoTimers and it seems to work, you can edit it to only work on selected channels as well.

and yes they can be padded.

the plugins are in the menu of the pvr. You select one and the pvr downloads it and installs it.

It is just when you go into the plugin menu and view the available plugins they all have very cryptic names....

Ah OK. Have you tried a Google search using one of the cryptic names? Perhaps, that might provide some info.

1. Can anyone explain, or provide a link to an explanation, of the various firmware options?

2. Am I right in thinking that it can also act as a Wireless Access Point as I believe there was a LAN socket on the back?

Seems unlikely you'd want to do that.
The LAN socket is there so you can connect it to the network without using a USB Wifi connexion (which is what I'd do, as I already have a Wifi extender running to the boxes at the back of my TV).

Agreed - although it doesn't seem to have any automated search capability?

My router is far from my TV and I am adding a NSLU2 to the Toppy, but there is no network access anywhere near the TV area. I have ruled out a Homeplug option, so need a WAP.

what do you mean by automated search?

If you click the info button the info box comes up with the program details say grand designs.

if you click the info button again a box with two options comes up

search EPG or IMDb details

if you select search EPG it will search the epg for grand designs, and give you a list of all grand designs in the next 7 days.

Agreed, now all we need is Andyfras's view on the build quality, oh and has R2-D2 got one?

Hi

Thanks for latest video. Again, looks very good.

From your video, it appears that Series Link is possible, but using text search rather than CRID data. Maybe a good subject for future PlugIn authors Smile I mean, how difficult could it be - all you need is the API and a good understanding of Swedish!

In MyStuff I can set-up a Power Search for (say) "University Challenge", and it just gets recorded when the next series comes along.
Or would "AutoTimer" do that just by leaving one in place...

Either way, at the moment I'm very tempted....no doubt some things will be different to the Toppy.

OMG! I'm smitten! Might have to treat myself to an early birthday present. It's like a Toppy but with all the stuff you wanted, like ethernet and a web interface to record things when away from the home and and and ...

Enough said.
