I didn't have LCN 65 yet as it launches in Jan 2015 so I created a placeholder for it :-
Code: LCN=65 Name=TBN UK SvcId=-1 RtCode=0 Type=TV Mux=COM5 HasEpg=1 FpdName=TBNU StartTime=0800 EndTime=0000 Content=Entertainment
Code: LCN=68 Name=truTV SvcId=-1 RtCode=0 Type=TV Mux=COM5 HasEpg=1 FpdName=CBSR StartTime=0000 EndTime=0000 Content=Entertainment
Code: LCN=241 Name=TVPlayer SvcId=-1 RtCode=0 Type=Web TV Mux=COM4 HasEpg=0 FpdName=son StartTime=0000 EndTime=0000 Content=Entertainment
LCN=242 Name=Vintage TV SvcId=-1 RtCode=0 Type=Web TV Mux=COM5 HasEpg=0 FpdName=son StartTime=0000 EndTime=0000 Content=Entertainment
Just copy and paste - they should line up ok. |

Geoff Bacon wrote: One change that EMJB might like to consider is to say that the BBC channels broadcast for the full 24 hours (e.g. BBC3). This would allow users to pick up extra broadcasts for special events e.e. Commonwealth Games (almost over now).
I believe broadcast time restrictions were implemented primarily because a (some?) channel broadcast EPG data for both Sat and Freeview but didn't broadcast all the programs on Freeview. This meant that the toppy might try to record a FreeSat programme (I'm assuming that, in the case of BBC, they are probably going to get the EPG correct). I'm not sure how often they'll do this, or why they used BBC3 rather than an extra channel on the Red Button.
That change would certainly help going forward, but how long will BBC3 be with us on Freeview? Didn't the Beeb say they were going to make it iPlayer only? |

However I have now updated the copy here,Edit: zip file updated around 16:15 on 16/8/2014.

I have been making changes to my Freeview.dat file to accommodate some of the recent changes prior to the big one on the 3rd. Due to my limited knowledge some information is missing. As a result there are some error messages that refer to rt2mei. Perhaps on the next update to CO these should be updated to as2mei. |

CO needs some data defaults, for example the following freeview.dat entry refers to a WebTV service so a lot of the parameters are defaulted because there is no EPG : -
Code: LCN=242 Name=Vintage TV SvcId=-1 RtCode=0 Type=Web TV Mux=COM5 HasEpg=0 FpdName=VTV StartTime=0000 EndTime=0000 Content=Entertainment
If you use the same defaults, your problem should go away. |

@Valiant, Thanks for that, have added the omissions, however the main point of my post was to draw attention to the mention of the now defunct 'rt2mei' referred to in those messages. |

I think you are being a bit premature in saying rt2mei is "defunct" - I have just completed a successful download. However that situation will arise soon, so I also need to think about how CO should interface with as2mei, and what the implications are on the Freeview.dat file.

Is the Freeview.dat file dated 15/08/14 up to date for the rescan?
What are the implications of not doing a scan - ie will there be there be any problems with existing pre-scan channels? |

The 'previous' channels are still there (and are confusing my Freeview.dat file), but if you don't rescan, all should be well for a while apart from a rescan nag message. |

Is the nag message only there if you have interactive enabled? I may have confused you by my exaggeration, the 'nag' is simply a message in the EPG that the channel has moved. |

I got a nag when I started my YouView box yesterday, whereas there's nothing on the MHEG-off Toppy |
