That implies that it has been fixed and my version is not the latest so I will investigate later today. (it clears when the Toppy is put into standby).

Yes, it still picks up 0's as you indicated earlier.

Sorry - I have no memory of the native EPG problem - must have missed it among the more serious problems. I have just confirmed my TF5800 is OK - left arrow on LCN 1 brings up the last in the list - so it looks like another 5810 "feature" that is going to be difficult to fix. Could you please answer the following:

(1) Does it fix itself after reboot?

(2) Does it think the channel list is the length before deletions, so if you scroll left 120 - number of remaining channels times do you start getting correct LCN's again?

(3) Does MyInfo report the correct number of channels?

EMJB

I've just tried a manual factory reset, scan and delete a few channels and all is ok.

(1) Fixed after a reboot.

(2) After roughly that number of scrolls, the correct LCN's reappear.

(3) Yes

edit:

One thing I've just noticed, the "problem" seems to go away after leaving the toppy unattended for a few minutes - I'll recheck.

Just worked out why - if I press ok to see "TV Services", the EPG then works ok.

All checks are being done after booting "Tapless".

I am not surprised considering its relative unimportance and the fact that the last mention of it was in April (http://forum.toppy.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=262648#262648) just after support for B1.2 ceased. Very Happy

@EMJB

I seem to remember that we/you did something special in PcControl so that,
after deleting channels, those at the end didn't exist as channel "0".

Having said that, the code in CO B2 looks similar so there my be a similar problem with PcControl

Perhaps next time andyfras gets a 5810, he could "pass" it to you instead of giving some of the money to Nigel (it won't please Nigel but would mean that you have a 5810 to experiment on; it might also mean that andy is out of pocket for the cost of any repairs!).

I have a spare 5810 that I would be happy to donate to EMJB for his good work, only problem would be getting it there.

Thanks for the offer of the 5810, but at present I have too many other commitments to be sure I can make effective use of it. Perhaps in the autumn ...

The latest date I can find for Freeview.dat and FvTxData.tsv is dated 13/4/2014. Are there any updates more recent as my error log is quite large now?

I generate the FvTxData.tsv file (well to be correct, I believe EMJB renames the file I use for TopManager). This file seldom changes.

EMJB maintains Freeview.dat. I know he has not been well so perhaps this is not as up-to-date as it could be. Both TM and CO try to compensate for errors in Freeview.dat (it is just that CO also tells you what the problem is so that the file can be corrected).

As I understand it, the error log is something you can delete if you are concerned with its size. Alternatively, you can use the info it contains to update/maintain Freeview.dat. If you didn't want to maintain it permanently, one could send an updated copy to EMJB to "adopt".

If you use TopManager, it should tell you when EMJB has updated Freeview.dat.

One change that EMJB might like to consider is to say that the BBC channels broadcast for the full 24 hours (e.g. BBC3). This would allow users to pick up extra broadcasts for special events e.e. Commonwealth Games (almost over now).
I believe broadcast time restrictions were implemented primarily because a (some?) channel broadcast EPG data for both Sat and Freeview but didn't broadcast all the programs on Freeview. This meant that the toppy might try to record a FreeSat programme (I'm assuming that, in the case of BBC, they are probably going to get the EPG correct).

I have updated my Freeview.dat - no errors in CO 2.1. If you want to give it a try - where do you want me to put it? Cool

Hmmm, rather than posting the whole file somewhere, could you post on here the entries for LCN 65, 68, 241 and 242 please.
