Once I've switched off subtitles, I don't seem to be able to switch them back on again.
The only option I get is to disable (which does nothing).
When subtitles are on after a reboot, "Interactive Services" in "System Setttings" is greyed out, which is correct to avoid conflicts.
I wonder if having Interactive Services greyed out has the side effect of switching on subtitles?
There is some discussion about subtitles here.
edit: Seems I can't switch on subtitles on my other 5810.
Tried various combinations including switching Interactive Services on.
I've now done tapless, factory reset, manual scan and still can't get subtitles on. |

B2X10 now available from here with following changes:
(1) Automatically repeats a scan if empty mux is found.
(2) Different subtitle control logic included for TF5810
(3) TF5810 screens changed where necessary to avoid unwanted graphic hiding vital information
(4) Further tidying up of log file etc.
(5) Blocking of memory leak.
Hope this is now good enough for use in spite of the TF5810 overlaid graphic problem in case we are unable to solve that.

As a result of comments elsewhere, I have added a scan timer feature to B2X11 available from here.
A text file (sample in the above zip) is used to define a date and the Tx channels to be searched. The first time the Toppy reboots with CO in Auto Start after 14:00 on the nominated day, a search & auto delete will be performed (N.B. Need to scan with CO normally first to record the programme channels to be deleted). It will probably be best to set up a watch timer for about 14:15 on the day concerned, though it might be OK waking up for a recording, or it might lose the recording.
Recommend giving a thorough check before relying on it!

Caused crash after finishing timed scan on 5810.
VF&F ok - then automatically went back into CO again, this time with usual interactive prompts.
Crashed again after dialogue to delete channels without preview.
Came back up after VF&F, this time without CO running. (Tried again, but this time CO was running after the reboot, this time ran to completion ok)
Log file before first crash......

I've never run CO from autostart before.
Is the load order important? Maybe MyStuff starting after CO could cause problems? |

@ ccs
Thanks for the feedback.
Have tried to reproduce your problem with no luck, even when I swapped the load order - looks like another TF5810 oddity! I have produced version B2X11a (available from here with some "belt and braces" actions to address any possible interactions with MyStuff at start-up. I have also made the timer fire at any time on subsequent days if the Toppy does not boot on the nominated day, and I have saved and restored all timers (for non-MyStuff users).

First attempt, bbc1 came up as normal for about 20 secs, CO started and toppy crashed immediately.
After reload (no VF&F) Scan Timer.txt still there, CO started interactively.
Tidied up, and tried again, this time exactly the same as previous post.
Used:
01/4/2013: 22, 25, 30, 53, 60
in timer.txt file - (01 rather than 1) |

What happens if you try it with EPG2MEI.tap removed from Auto Start (just as a test); EMJB and I have had lots of problems in the past trying to reliably shut down this tap (it patches itself into the firmware and doesn't clean itself out when it closes).
Also, do you have the capability to monitor/save the output from the serial interface? If so, install the CrashTrace tap (as the first tap loaded when the toppy boots) and see if you can capture a trace.
[edit]@EMJB
The log above doesn't show that you have stopped other taps - I'm sure you have but just though I would mention it[/edit]

I've used crash trace before, but it will have to wait 'til tomorrow.
I'll have a go with EPG2MEI
Without EPG2MEI, another twist.
Went straight into "interactive mode". I selected no scan, but CO reported
that mux 60 had zero strength/quality (not sure which).
When I checked later, mux 60 looked fine.
Rebooted and CO started again +crash+VF&F followed by interactive mode.
Very random - if I select no scan it reappears after every reboot/crash.
In fact it never goes away - apart from the random graphics which have now gone.
Sorry if this seems confusing, but there is no real pattern, which might be a clue in itself.
The previous test version had been left in autostart, without any issues. |

Thanks for your efforts to find the problem. Have no idea why the graphics should have disappeared.
Your problem with interactive mode appearing at boot after V&V is probably associated with the logic of trying to decide whether it has started at boot, or been started manually later - very difficult to get some logic that works perfectly every time, particularly if you do a reboot after a short run.
Could you please send me:
(1) Latest log (I added some more relevant info in 11a).
(2) Your timer file, just in case there is something odd in that.
Does the crashing occur if the TAP is left in Auto Start with no timer file and a reasonable set of channels?
If you feel like trying again, can you please keep a log file for each attempt?

@EMJB Log files are a bit awkward at the moment.
Restarts overwrite the previous copy (I assume). Can they be set up to append?
Timer file mentioned here
Doesn't appear to do any harm in autostart if no timer file. |

Getting confused now.
Tried again today and CO decided nothing to do.......
Code: Channel Organiser B2X11a Log generated on 2/4/2013 at 11:39
Running application: 1509 on model 457
Toppy mode: State='Normal', substate= 'Normal'
Available memory on opening 12090 Kbytes
Minutes since last run (max value 100): 4
Found channel search timer for 2/4/2013 for channels: 22, 25, 30, 53, 60
Channel Organiser was run from Auto Start at boot time- channels found so no action
Code: # This file defines a scan timer for the Channel Orgainiser TAP
# First time this is found on relevant day a scan is performed on indicated channels and then this file is deleted
# Anything after '#' is ignored
# Blank lines are ignored
#Timer format is "d/m/yyyy:" followed by comma separated Tx channel list
02/4/2013: 22, 25, 30, 53, 60
(After this, the scan timer file has not been deleted.)
Tried with a set of wrong mux's with same results.
Looks like test version of CO needs to ignore "no action" test. |

So (just guessing):-
Look in ChannelOrganiserB2.ini (if test version still uses that rather the the previous ChannalOrganiser.ini) to see if it contains a line with todays date. If it does, change it to yesterday's date and try again.

I tried deleting the ini file as it's created after the 1st run. CO still as before.
CO kicked in yesterday - it was difficult to stop it!
Maybe yesterday's version was setup with yesterday's date for testing. |

It would do nothing at that time with that file - the timer is only actioned (and then deleted) after 14:00 on the nominated day as the Tx changes generally seem to happen at midday. If you try it now, it should try to rescan.
If it goes wrong again, Could you please email the timer file just in case there are any stray characters that CO doesn't like and so I can test under as similar as possible conditions to yours.
