Is it worth trying the live version of CO on my current config?

Not at the moment - I am pretty sure it will do the same thing, and the fix is pretty trivial - just need to make sure I haven't messed something else up in the process. Thanks for the offer, though.

I have just uploaded a new version (X9) which includes

* A fix for ccs's Extend.ini problem

* A fixes for Bizman's timer problems on the TF5810 when not using MyStuff

but I have failed to cure Bizmans's TF5810 problem with subtitles appearing after the next reboot after a scan. However this seems to be a very minor irritation compared with doing manual scans, deletions, and configuration file updates.

This uses Geoff Bacon's transmitter database, as so, unlike FastScanGui, should cope with the transmitter channel changes over the next few months.

The new version with pdf and supporting files can be downloaded from here.

@EMJB

I have found that subtitles are automatically turned at reboot when volume is set to 0 (or just above it)!

I'm not saying BizMan's volume is 0 but tweaking the volume after scanning may have some effect.

Previous problem fixed ok.

Went thru' with no scan/previous deletes/user review ok

Then scanned Belmont/previous deletes/user review but the review didn't match my earlier deletes.

I went back to the deletes menu, but the previous deletes option had gone. Sad

Will try again.

Got rid of all unwanted channels.

Some timers missing. Edit: Wrong - they were merged timers so only the first timer (correctly) set.

Scanned Belmont/previous deletes/user review - All ok this time.

Maybe finger trouble. I'll get an original deletes file and try again (later).

Subtitles have appeared after reboot.

Made sure volume on full - still appeared. Switched them off and they stayed off after reboot.

Might it not be causing other (not so obvious) problems?

I suspect the new version doesn't like delete lists from early versions, but I think its Ok with ones from TopManager and the last pukka version of CO and of course with ones the new version has produced itself.

Definitely a possibility, but without a TF5810, I am dependent on the likes of yourself and Bizman to find them!

Thanks for your time trying it out,

How pukka is pukka? I've only used CO fairly recently and thought it was the latest? It says it's B1.2

I reran again using the original deletes file and the same thing happened.

I had, for example, deleted 23 out of 24 radio channels, but it said there were 24.

Surprised not to see channel names included by B1.2. Will take a closer look at what is happening with your file.

Regarding the subtitle corruption, is it worth me trying to get flash memory dumps before and after running CO?

Is there anything readily available to do this?

I've noticed a reference to a tap "Memory Dump ( Flash)", but no links.

Maybe the command console would do it?

Have just uploaded version B2X9a to here with the following changes:

? Fix for problem reading earlier versions of deletes list reported by "ccs"

? Fix for problem of previous deletions option not being available when returning to main delete menu, reported by "ccs".

? "OK" when editing favourites now takes you back to main favourites menu, as suggested by Geoff Bacon some time ago.

Tried latest version and nearly ok.

Restored old deletes file.

I started with a saved scan on Belmont.

For some reason (sod's law perhaps), it found no channels on mux 22 (bbc).

I did a manual scan on 22 and it was fine (100% quality)

Started again from scratch and CO found all mux's ok. Confused

TV deletes are ok, but radio are all set to deleted, when one should have been retained.

Maybe this is because yesterday I set the menu to delete all radio channels, and then I undeleted one, which seemed the quick way to do it.

Probably need to take the menus settings first and then merge in the deletes file?

Subtitles still on.

I'll try some other combinations later.

@ccs:

Thanks for the feedback.

There is a common problem with scanning using CO, FastScanGui, and TopManager in that very occasionally the Toppy fails to find any channels on one mux (normally the first one). TopManager overcomes this by doing a repeat scan on any empty mux, but I have not (yet!) included that logic in CO.

With regards to your missing radio channel, I have repeated your sequence and at first thought I had reproduced your apparent bug of deleting the one remaining radio channel. However what had happened was that the "Delete all radio channels" was still selected at the main delete menu (settings of this menu are stored and used as defaults next time). When I de-selected this, the one remaining radio channel remained after the deletions.

I guessed that was the case. I suppose I read "Retain all radio channels" to mean they'd all be re-selected.

I should have tried it first.

If you're daft enough to try scanning for the wrong transmitter, CO reports a problem which allows you to retry, and recover.

However, there is a minor problem with the display when selecting another transmitter.

Some of the moving graphics from the native 5810 menu are displayed on top of the CO menu,

potentially making it impossible to see the transmitter you're looking for.
