I have a TF5720HDMI PVRt and in the Information item in the menu it reports the system ID as 13436.
It also states the S/W version as TF-NPTs3.40

When I go to the Topfield site to download firmware it is not possible to find this model. Crying or Very sad
But I have saved links to the firmwares for the Swedish models and I could download the files for my Toppy that way, so they seem to exist anyway.
The file name I received is: TF5720PVRt_HDMI-13536-2009Mar12.tfd
Notice the number 13536!

Now I have patched this software with a number of patches and uploaded to my Toppy. But when I run HDFW it claims that the F/W is not intended for my Toppy model!!!
At the same time it lists the model at the far right correctly as TF5720HDMI.
The original unpatched file I downloaded from Topfield is also listed with an exclamation mark.

The backup of the existing firmware, which I did first, is shown as being for TF5710HDMI. And it has no exclamation mark....

What is going on here? I tried to load the unpatched 3.40 onto the Toppy and it seems to work just fine so far.

Is it an error in HDFW in that it does not associate the files and the unit correctly?

Just a guess; check you have an uptodate version of Firmware.dat (no idea about the capitalisation)

I wonder where a newer Firmware.dat file can be obtained?
Mine is in the zipfile for HDFW I downloaded today and is timestamped 2009-10-18 (size (125612 bytes)

I've no idea wehere you can get one (and it was only a suggestion anyway).

I seem to recall Juwlz suggesting that you use Fwload (some time ago; I may be wrong!)

Well, since I know for sure that it is a TF5720HDMI and I have downloaded the latest firmware for it from Topfield and then patched it, I might as well just let it be. HDFW let me flash the f/w even though it warned about the possible problem.

Yours is not the latest, which is included in http://www.topfield.cc/files/Firebird/FireBirdLib_TF5000.zip.

Downloaded the zipfile, but could not find any hdfw.tap file inside of it...
The only file of relevance is the Firmware.dat file located in the root of the zipfile.
Everything else seems to be sources for various other software...

Anyway I copied the Firmware.dat file over to the toppy in ProgramFiles/HDFW (where the tap is located). Then started the tap and got the same exclamation marks concerning the validity of the firmware files...

Is there a newer HDFW.tap file somewhere?
The one I have is dated 2009-10-18 and is 176724 bytes in size.
