Hi all, I am thinking about an upgrade from my 5800 to either a 7260 or 2460, but do not know which is the most reliable and value for the money. I am from the UK so it would have to work over here, ( i am not sure about that), do they both work with an aerial as well as satellite?. any advice welcomed, thanks. Arrow57. |

Making multiple posts is bad forum etiquette. If you don't get an answer in one place it is because nobody here knows the answer. If you do get answers it is confusing as to which post to reply to.
Since the Toppy models are not available in the UK I doubt if you will find anyone who can help. Even Ozzy members are few & far between.
But in answer to your question, it is unlikely that either will work satisfactorily due to differences in the DTT standards. |

My apologies, I am new to this and was just trying spread the net wide, it will not happen again. Thank you for the advice though I will try to work out whether another model will do instead. Once more my apologies, I stand corrected. Arrow67 |

Because of major differences between the TV channel allocations in Australia and those in the UK, it is very unlikely that any TV or digital box designed for use there would work properly, if at all, in the UK, even if there were no other differences between the systems (which seems unlikely).
The 7260 manual (linked by Bizman above) specifically says on page 11 that it tunes channels 6-12 and 28-69. Those numbers relate to frequencies in the Australian channel list which covers 177-266 MHz (VHF) and 529-816 MHz (UHF) with channel spacings of 7 MHz. The UK allocations are 471-783 MHz (UHF) with channel spacing of 8 MHz (no VHF allocation). A few channels may roughly coincide by chance but not enough to be useful.

I know that DeltaMikeCharly from the Australian forum has created a TAP that patches the transponder table. This made an AUS Toppy (TRF-2400) to find all services in Mauritius. If the tuner is able to tune to the whole frequency range, this should also work for the UK. Of course, there is still a small risk that something else won?t fit. |

Hi, I have ordered a TV-7260 and when I receive it I will try DMCs TAP and fingers crossed be doing a jig to celebrate receiving UK TV channels. I will keep you posted. |
