Anyone know how you can tell if a recording file is locked? I have compared two versions of a file (one locked and one not) and can't find any differences!

Does the Toppy store this info somewhere other than in the file itself?

Thanks

I would expect that to be in the FAT (File Allocation Table) on the disk rather than the file itself. In the same way that file attributes (read-only etc) are in Windows.

There was some discussion a few weeks ago (on the Autrailian Forums I think) about trying to get information ot of there to find out things to do with dates. I can't remember where they got to on that front.

Open the file and look in the TYPE_File structure. If the skip attribute == 0 then it is NOT locked.

cheers,
John

Thanks for the replies chaps.

Rowan - keep forgetting about the OZ forums. Must get into the habit of checking there too.

deangelj - that did the trick. Cheers!
