Found a proabable source of the 5810 problem - new version here. Unfortunately very difficult for me to test properly, but lets hope this has fixed the problem.

Thanks, will have a go at that tomorrow.

It works Very Happy

There was no reboot (expected on a 5810?), and some of the channels had odd names, fragments of what was previously in the flash I expect, so I renamed them all to 901 etc.

Quickblank now works properly again, thanks.

Please excuse my ignorance, but is this a Tap that I should run once (or once every time that the Flash is updated) then expect QuickBlank to work as it once did (albeit switching to different LCNs)?

I am reasonably sure that I didn't have BlankChannel running before, so I assume that I was just lucky that the defaults worked.

Chris.

It is a one off tap, or for after a factory reset. It creates dummy blank channels for quick blank to use.

Great!

IIRC TAPs can't initiate a reboot on a 5810 (other than deliberately crashing!). I need to refresh my memory as to whether we now know how to avoid the need for a reboot.

Were any of the names correct ("Blank for Mux ..")?

I wouldn't worry about the re-boot, maybe just change the wording if it's easy to tell the user to reboot.

None, the 1st 2 had what looked like the remnants of Dave JaVu across them, and the others were totally blank. Didn't like the idea of multiple channels with no name so I changed them all to the LCN.

Spoke to soon, it did something to my toppy that caused it to not want to schedule any recordings as it thought they were all clashes. Had to factory reset to fix. I would caution others against running this right now.

Sorry about that. I was just starting to re-arrange the code to make it easier & more effective to simulate the TF5810 situation on my 5800. Will let you have new version when/if I have it running correctly on the 5800.

This new version also works with a 5800PVRt - the facelift model with the 458 sysid.

If you can identify the correct channel numbers, you can hack them into the TAP using a hex editor. The channel numbers start at offset 31E6.
Did this today, hit a problem with Mux D as there are no data channels so I chose Create and Craft as it is off air most of the day. Anyone got a better suggestion for a channel for Mux D?

This new version is here (right click save target as), and I have called it V0.3 to distinguish it from the one of Simon's site.

Much appreciated, it will be the best solution, if you can get it working without a machine to play with.

Just noticed that the BlankChannel TAP created a channel called Blank for Mux unknown instead of calling it Blank for Mux A. What drives the naming scheme?

The idea was to call it "Blank for Mux x", and it has an (out of date) LCN to Mux conversion list hard-coded in. As the Mux allocation depends on whether you are pre- or post DSO, I will probably change to some thing like "Blank for BBC1 Mux" unless someone can come up with a better, but simple, solution.

I suppose the name isn't terribly important really, so Blank Channel 1-6 would probably suffice.
