Had the Humax Foxsat a week now and was disappointed to find it had failed to record Lewis last night (I was not the only Foxsat user this happened to apparently). So I had to watch it on ITV Player which I can only describe as a last resort for the desperate viewer.

So, I will *not* now be putting one of my Toppies into cold-storage but using it to mirror-record the SD version of anything I record on the Foxsat. I have set up the necessary MyStuff Power Searches so that:-

1) The recordings are all filed into a directory called HD. That way I can keep them distinct from my normal SD-only recordings and have a quick way of checking what should be available to watch on the Foxsat without needing to actually turn it on.

2) The searches will only keep the last recording of each series so I do not have to remember to do house-keeping and have a week to find out if the HD recording on the Foxsat failed so need to watch the SD recording.

Very Happy

Be thankful you found this out with Lewis, it could have been something a lot more important (no prizes for guessing to what I am referring!).

There ain't no stinkin' Vroom, Vroom in HD. Neither on two or four wheels. Not this year at any rate. Sad

But there is a little competition starting soon south of the equator for overpaid, nancy boys involving a lot of pretend falling over and kissing. I think a pig's bladder is also involved. Wink

There is for us convicts. Laughing For the first time in years I'm really enjoying watching F1 & MotoGP live. It just doesn't warrant me purchasing an HD recording solution yet, but it will come.

What is the coverage of the V8s like down under?

I don't watch a lot of SuperTaxi racing, I actually prefer the BTCC. Those broadcasts I have seen aren't bad but I suspect the 7 network's bit rate is less then the TEN network's (they have the F1 and MotoGP rights). Also 7 seem to favour broadcasting it on their SD channel while they run some old B&W movie on their HD channel - I don't know if they have done this recently but they have in the past.

We are not even getting any highlights of the V8s here anymore. I agree that like WTCC they need to stay away from the street circuits (Bathurst excepted of course) and race on proper tracks. Knockhill is the best tin-top race track in the UK IMHO.

You'll find them on channel BT.

I wouldn't call Bathurst a street circuit, IMO it is is the same category as Le Mans. It's a country road, well actually a loop, but as it falls within the Bathurst city limits and thus it has a suburban speed limit (60kph) and fixed speed cameras (not show in Street View) in the Reid/Sulman Park area and on Conrod Straight.

TBH not interested enough to make the effort.

Coverage of The NW200 is available on the BBC Red Button this weekend which is much more up my street.
