I disagree Phil. OZ Toppies covers all sorts of OZ chatter so one section is better than the three model specific sections you have suggested.

OK Smile . What about a fourth section then.

1. Oz Toppies 2400
2. Oz Toppies 5000 (this would cover all flavours of the 5000 series inc the SD MP etc and archived material from the old Toppy Forum)
3. Oz Toppies 7x00
4. Oz Toppies Chatter.

The forum isn't divided for UK Toppy models so why should it be for us visitors.

That'd make TF5810 owners feel even more isolated and out in the cold. Sad (I was going to add "poor, misguided" in there, but I thought better of it since I'm technically a TF5810 owner...)

I really don't want to add other sections until I've had the time to upgrade to phpBB.

As it is, some people don't always notice all the areas we have, as the forum front page is pretty long, and those that appear lower down the screen are less visible (which is why they tend to be the more specialist ones, like the programming area).

Adding a couple more Oz areas would push even more things down the screen (hmm, unless I put them all at the bottom of the page, cos you're starting from underneath us, anyway.... Smile)

When I upgrade to phpBB3, that supports forums within forums, so we can have one top level Oz forum, with model specific ones, if you wish (or more likely, series-specific, I think). We may do similar with the UK, and things like the MyStuff area will be able to nestle inside the TAPs area.

Nigel.

I am just happy to have a place to discuss the new model - as long as posts are tagged at the start of the topic with a model number it works.

Sub-forums do work but people don't really tend to use them and will still stay at the root sub forum. This way I just have one section to read and we are making progress in getting a better unit.

Well, as much as I like the idea of divided headers, this brings to mind a visitor to my house, who marched in and asked my husband to help her move some furniture - didn't like the way I had it arranged. She wasn't asked back. Laughing

How did your husband react to her request?

Well, didn't tell you the half of it. She came to visit my new born baby. (the baby is now 40 Laughing) My (now ex) husband actually started to do as he was told, until he noticed the look on my face. He then said he will do it later.

Funny thing is, I don't remember her name, nor where I knew her from, but I do remember her attempt at redecorating my home. Razz
