As Topfield haven't produced any Freeview+ firmware that actually works and it's probably coming up for a year since they released a load of s**t supposedly supporting it what confidence would anyone have that this equipment does what it says on the box? Topfield would probably abandon any support if it didn't work in much the same way that they have abandoned support for their current products!

BTW, as its a satellite PVR will it support any 7 day EPG that is available in the UK?

I can categorically state that they haven't abandoned support for the current products. I'll have more news on that before too long, but the game certainly isn't over.

I know that the long gaps between updates of late haven't been terribly impressive, but as I've said before, that doesn't mean that wheels aren't slowly turning (and getting faster) behind the scenes.

As for the SRP-2100, aka the TMS, no it doesn't support the Freesat EPG, so you'd be limited to now and next as things stand.

Nigel.

It seems that the SRP 2100 will be Topfields first HD PVR that will do TAPs?

http://www.binzou.com/2009/06/multimedia-hd-receiver-topfield-tms-srp-2100/

.. so now all Topfield has to do is changing the 2 DVB-S2 tuners with 2 DVB-T2 tuner - and let R2D2 do the rest Laughing

EDIT:
Now I've found the Aussie TRF-2400 with terrestrial tuners that will also do TAPs

http://www.topfield.co.kr/eng/download/utility_list.asp?tn=utility
http://www.topfield.co.kr/eng/product/detail.asp?idx=242

..so there are two H.264 models with capabilities to do TAPs.

Ooh, from first glances that TAP API is a bit richer, with stuff like custom DVB section filtering and better audio playback.

Now why didnt they implement some of those features on the 5810 ie internet etc, they would have sold far more units if they had, maybe they might consider terrestial freeview with a similar unit to the freesat one
