@Bob

Hi Bob. I have spotted another repeatable Toppy reboot with v3.14. The last error i reported related to accessing the extended information for the 'Chaplin' film, which you looked at and identified the error and a fix for v3.2.

This has the same symptoms, but i thought i would report it to you for checking anyway, just in case the underlying cause is in fact different.

The reboot occurs when trying to view the extended information using the 'i' key from the EPG Grid view (and probably from other views - but not checked these) for the the film 'Gangs of New York' which is scheduled for 22:00 this Sunday on Channel 4.

As with the previous 'Chaplin' reboot, highlighting the EPG Grid cell is OK, and shows the first few lines at the bottom of the screen OK.

The MEI EPG data was sourced using rt2mei (as before). If you need me to send any MEI data/files, let me know.

Hope this helps.... looking forward to the new v3.2 functions

Del

Well Gangs of New York extended info loads fine in my test version of the next Mystuff release Cool

There's a lot of extended info for this film, which may be the cause of your crash.

I'm using Bawbaggs XML to MEI.

You are correct, the extended info does go on and on... which was the same for the Chaplin film. However, Bob didnt tell me what the actual problem with the Chaplin data was, just that he would fix in v3.2.

So it may have been data length related, or possibly data content related (ie. invalid data/character) or even something else. As i didnt know which, i thought it was worth reporting, just in case it is different.

The fact that it is working OK for you with the new test version of v3.2 looks promising that it was the same problem which Bob has fixed.

Cheers.. Del Very Happy

Yeah the Chaplin problem was due to the length of the description (and memory overun in MyStuff). The fix in the next version should take care of this one too (and according to Hyde it does).

Thanks for the heads up though (just glad the next version works!)

Wow, I've only been using MyStuff for a few days, and if that wasn't exciting enough, a new version is coming soon! MyStuff is so great; so great I even donated, and I have never done before! Laughing

Hi Guys

just a quick note about a little display problem I've just noticed,

I'm recording Las Vegas on Sky three now, (00.00 to 01.00) and the red square shows up in the top level archive screen showing that recording is in progress, all well and good.... but

I looked in another folder where I had been storing last week's episode to watch later and the red square for in progress recording was showing too!

Only one recording was happening, and the spare that was in the folder had the same name and time but last week's date....

Not a crucial bug, just a display thing but I thought I'd let you know.

For the record, there's no new EPG.... whatever gave you that idea??? Confused Confused

The key new feature in the new version is a very refined feature called ControlTimers (CT for short, but get to know the word, you're gonna love them), which have developed quite a lot further than the description I posted a while back (link above somewhere).

There's been a HUGE volume of activity over the past couple of days, and it's really near. We're trying our best to get the bugs squished, and as good a programmer as BobD is, there have been a LOT of bugs, because the new feature set is complex and HUGE.

Gotta go, a new test version just arrived.......

[/tease mode on].... it might be the last test version..... [/tease mode off]

Ahh. So Smart Timers are no more (and just when the phrase was entering my vernacular!)

No, just not yet implemented. They are still very much on the roadmap. Very Happy.

Hi there,

you will still need something to gather data, be that Jag's, eit2mei, rt2mei or BB's MEI. (and maybe in the future epg_extender). You should familiarise yourself with these or else wait until release and read the manual Razz

Cheers
