I am about to visit a friend who I supplied with a 5810 earlier this year. I'd installed MyStuff 6.1 and recommended firmware (and a fan), but when the clocks changed in March, it didn't handle it well.

I seem to remember that there was a patch (or was it a TAP) that fixed the problem on 5810s, which was mentioned at the time; can anyone tell me what it was, so that I don't get the dreaded phone call next time?

The trouble is, it's one of those things you only get to test once (or twice if you count ANY clock change) per year.

Here's what happened last October:
http://forum.toppy.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=205734#205734

AFAIK, neither MyStuff nor EPG2MEI have made any relevant changes in this area since then. (I may be wrong, of course.)

The foolproof method is to set a Watch timer for the early hours of Sunday morning (I suggest 3am) to let the Toppy reset its internal clock and for MyStuff to adjust all its timers.

Thanks to you both, but it was something that specifically affected the 5810 this Spring and there was a fix, as I remember it. I should have downloaded it at the time.

Where's R2-D2 when you need him?

According to R2-D2 in that thread (or a linked one), [Tp] v4 is included in the recommended firmware.

And according to me, putting the machine in standby and restarting ASAP after the clock change worked too.

Thanks ccs, that was the post I remember; I'd tried searching for summertime, summer time, clock change and others, but I didn't try BST.

I will check that Tp v4 is installed when I visit my friend at the weekend. I'm sure there'll be a few other things like MS6.2 that'll need updating too.

R2-D2's final comment - http://forum.toppy.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=219120#219120 - suggests that he was looking into a further modification.

Yes, but the [Tp] thread suggests he's now made it. (Although I haven't cross-checked the timestamps!)

Well MS 6.2 via installer with recommended firmware will give you Tp v4, so that's easy Wink

I vaguely remember that, but I can't see any update in [Tp] (or the more likely [Sx]) that makes a suitable adjustment. I'll maybe get some time to do something about it during the F1 at some point this weekend. Smile

Updated [Sx] to include (what I believe is) a fix for TF5810 owners.

So I guess I should roll this into the recommended firmware then, yes?
